To start out, I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first on how their service was, as the first time I tried to eat here last week we ended up walking out after no one seating us for over 10 minutes. I figured maybe it was an off day or they were just too short staffed to handle more people.
I was very wrong, as when we went back there today it was definitely an experience I both felt was notable and cautionary. I went in with my mother and father and had brought my 2 year old to have some lunch and see if we had just had a fluke last time. We were seated promptly, and first red flag was that we had to ask for a kids menu and crayons for her.
We got our drinks and ordered, second red flag was that i had specifically asked for no cheese on my salad; they still put cheese on the salad. Annoying, but fine. Easy mistake since my mom did want cheese. We got all the adult orders, but my daughter's food never arrived. The waitress said that she messed up and that her food would be out soon. I had ordered her chicken tenders with an applesauce cup.
Cherry on top; her food never came to the table. My mother ended up asking the other waiter about what happened with her food, as all three of us were already finished with ours. I had at least shared some of my side with her so she didnt go hungry, and when they ended up actually bringing her food out they brought it with fries and not applesauce.
At this point we were fed up and we just gathered up the wrong order and went to leave. My mom ended up asking them politely to take off her meal, which was 2 very sad tiny chicken strips and maybe a handful of fries for 8 dollars mind you, and the lady even said that it was her fault and took it off the bill.
Kudos to them for taking responsibility and all, but that doesn't excuse the fact my daughter had to sit there and watch us eat while she had no food, along with getting two different plates wrong. We will not be coming back here for as long as we are in GV. We have never had this issue with any other IHOP before, so this was a very...
Read moreWe usually don't come to IHOP because we have had the worst experiences. We had not been to this establishment before. We were quickly seated by our server. He was very nice and cordial. He got our order and we got it quickly. There wasn't many people in at the time we were there. I got the senior rise and shine. My husband got just and omelette which I guess came with 2 pancakes. My eggs were good. My hash browns were overcooked outside and mushy on the inside. I could make mashed potatoes. Gave my dog the potatoes. Husband said there was Velveeta cheese on his omelette. He doesn't care for fake cheese. He ate it anyway. We took his pancakes home. I was still hungry so I ate the pancakes when we got home. I'm diabetic and that raised my glucose so high I had to take a nap. Yes, I went into a food coma.
Recommendation: cook needs to make sure hash browns are cooked all the way through, please use REAL cheese and if there are any other complaints about the food, I would change the ingredients by using real food. Real butter, not margarine. But some butter on the toast for goodness sake. Use real eggs, not the crap in the cartons.
The server was very nice. Attentive. Atmosphere was very nice. I did tell the husband if the restaurant is empty, it might be because...
Read moreThe food was just as average as you would expect. The ladies room smelled horrid. It was so bad, that another patron propped open the door to air ir out before we left. The service was awkward. Victoria was nearly silent. I asked for boxes. She delivered them without a word a stood there with her hand out while I scraped my leftovers into a box. I even said, "oh, I guess I should hurry. I'm being pressured to finish up." My fiance just gave her a questioning look. She said nothing. Just continued to hold her hand out toward my plate until I was done. Then she left for several minutes. After, I used the restroom a second time, my fiance used the men's room. Then Victoria came back and asked if I would like a bag for our boxes of leftovers. I said, "yes, please." I watched her walk to the supply area behind our row of booths. She flung open the plastic bag and slowly walked over with the bag carefully held open. She approached the table. Stood there for a moment. Then carefully placed the open bag on the table. Mind you, the plastic bags are flimsy. Very thin. It started to droop, so she reopened the bag with both hands and stepped back. She stood there, staring at the bag as I put our two boxes in. It was a very...
