Let me just say every burger I have tried at this place has been delicious. The Western, the Guido, the Pattymelt, etc., you can't go wrong here. They could improve their protein style burgers by adding more lettuce layers. One lettuce leaf is not enough. There should be several layers of lettuce. That would make the burger easier to eat. Everywhere else I've had a protein style burger does a better job at wrapping it in lettuce without an extra fee, which takes me to the next thing. I am experiencing tipflation fatigue. I was okay tipping at fast food restaurants during the pandemic. However, the pandemic is over. I have decided I will no longer allow fast food restaurants to guilt me into tipping for counter service. I have been considering it for some time and my last visit to Burger and Cream solidified my decision.
There were 3 of us plus another at home waiting for some fries. We ordered our burgers along with a family size waffle fries, a family size onion rings, 2 waters, a regular size iced tea and a small size milkshake. My husband paid for the meal including a tip. As we waited for our food to be prepared, we realized the cashier hadn't given us any condiment sauces for the waffle fries and onion rings. So my husband approached the counter and asked for some sauces. After paying $10 for a family size onion rings and $7 for a family size waffle fries, he was told that he could get one sauce per family size tub of fries and onion rings. This is a STINGY, STINGY, STINGY amount. One tiny, not full to the top container for a family size portion of fries and family size portion of onion rings is not enough, and we prefer not to share germs, thank you! We wanted one small container of bbq sauce each and one small container of ranch dressing each. That is 2 sauces per person for a total of 6. Anywhere else, that is a standard ask and it is fair for the price we are paying. In the end, he paid another $1.30 for 6 total sauces. He got 1 sauce for 2 family size tubs (not per family size tub) and paid extra for 5 more.
But it does not stop there. When I cut into my second bite of protein style burger a long hair came out with it. Gross! This is why I won't tip at the counter anymore. In order for me to tip, you have to earn it. I left very unhappy with your service and your food, and you unfairly got a tip that was...

Food is still great, but I have had to abort and pick a different place to grab food a few times now.
When you try to call in an order, they require that you give them your card number over the phone.
While I can understand what might drive them to make this policy, it does present a few issues: The first and second time I ran into this as an issue, I was driving. I'm not going to pull my card out and read it off while I'm driving. Was supposed to be a quick stop on the way past the exit. Now, if I am in a hurry, I just skip them altogether. When I'm not in a bit of a hurry, and paid over the phone or online, a few times now I have gotten there, and my food was not ready for another 15minutes past when they said it would be ready. So, unless I stand in line to get a refund, I'm just stuck waiting however long they feel like taking that day, vs saying hey, cancel my order, you clearly have not even started it yet, and leaving.
All in all, I still stop by, it's just less often, and usually only If I plan to sit and eat there, or door dash it.
This place is great!!!
The chili fries don't get soggy by the time you get home when ordering takeout.
Western burger was fantastic. Wife loves the the Spicy Johnny burger a lot.
One thing to note, they cook their burgers medium with pink, so ask for your preference if you would like it more done.
Stoked to have another good...
Read moreLet's just start by saying I doubt I will ever come back... $30 for two burgers and two sodas was a little pricey but that was okay. Their friendly service started out okay until we had finished our order, and that's when it all went downhill! It's almost like they literally forgot about us! She said it would be about 15 minutes yet after we set right there for about 35 to 40 minutes we finally walked up and asked what about our order? Many people that came in behind us got theirs and left or got theirs and ate and then left! They ended up making it to go when they finally called my name and it appeared to had been sitting on their counter for quite some time and we said that it was for here so they handed it to us and we sat down again to eat and everything was cold!!! They did not Mark which one was well done for my girlfriend so it turns out she ended up with the one that was not as done and was not happy at all about it but we were not going to sit there and have them make another one for another 30 minutes of a wait... it was cold but it did not taste too bad, but we will not go there ever again and I do not suggest that other people do...
