Wanted to try a new place and decided this would be it based on reviews. I will say the food and prices were great…. But my particular server was not. It was not the busy but consistent and I nearly waited 30 minutes for my food. I wasn’t paying attention at first because I was dining alone and watching a movie. But when I did look up there were new people seating around me with their food. My server clearly forgot about me( I was sitting smack dead in the middle of the restaurant). We made eye contact and her reaction confirmed she did forget to put my order in. She did come and apologize. 10 more minutes I got my food. Corn beef hash didn’t even look like it was cooked. Had to go back, but she left my pancakes ( without syrup). She came back a minute or 2 with syrup and later finally my food. Normally I would have not come back. But the food was great, she did come back and check on me once. I asked for a to go box and nothing. I guess the problem was that I was just not a priority for whatever reason. I asked another person ( not even sure if she was a server) but she was so nice and kind and she got me a box. I went to pay and was asked how was everything. I responded the food was great but my service wasn’t. The guy just stared at me and the woman that was there responded with a bland apology. I just they are not use to someone saying the service was not good. Neither even cared to ask why. The woman who brought me my to go box also handed me my jacket I left at the table. Her name was Mari I believe. Mari and my food were the star of the show. Everyone can have an off day. I’ll just chalk it up to that. I will come back and give it...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for breakfast in-between our granddaughter's first time being a cheerleader at her 1st game of the year, and our grandson's second year playing football. We had a little over an hour to kill and stumbled upon this great little place in Grayson. The place was packed, but we were second on the seating list and were seated in less than 7 minutes. Something I observed while waiting for our food to arrive was how efficient the staff was. Within seconds of a table coming open, it was immediately cleaned and prepped for the next customer. The entire time we were there, there was never an empty table. The hostess literally walked people to their table before the previous customer could leave the restaurant, they were that good and efficient. I know a lot of restaurants that should visit this great restaurant and learn a few things. Sorry, I know I'm supposed to be talking about the food, quality, etc. but I just had to mention this, it's just to outstanding to leave it out.
OK, the food was not your typical pancake house food. This is not Waffle House or IHOP, it's much, much better. My wife's grits were perfectly cooked, not runny, but not overcooked either, just perfect texture, I wish I had ordered some. Our bacon was crisp but not burnt, just how we asked for them. My over-medium eggs were also just perfect, yolk still runny but whites completely cooked. So let's run it down, great efficient staff, a cook who knows how to follow the waitress' order and knows how to cook, pay at the table when ready to leave, I don't know what else you need to have a wonderful...
Read moreMy first and last time ordering from this poorly ran establishment. I ordered a chicken fajita omelette add spinach with hashbrowns. What I received was a kids menu cheese omelet, grits, 2 over-cooked slices of bacon and a small cup of orange juice!!!
I immediately called the restaurant and asked for a manager. Who hired Isabelle and why???? Her response: I packed the order myself, your Uber eats driver picked up 2 orders they got it wrong, I did my job. You didn't pay us you paid Uber you'll have to contact them. She was completely unconcerned.
I was able to contact the driver through the uber app and explain this fiasco hoping to get a resolution, the driver Deborah confirmed she picked up 2 orders from the restaurant but at different times so she couldn't have mixed up the orders. She further explained the drivers are NOT allowed to open the food, the bag did arrive sealed. I believe Isabelle just threw the uber eats driver under the bus to avoid accepting responsibility.
I called the restaurant back and asked to speak with a manager other than Isabellel. To my dismay Isabelle came back to the line placed me on hold and left me there for nearly 20 minutes before I disconnected the call. Feeling defeated, lightheaded and bamboozled I called one last time and requested a corporate number. It was explained that they're a franchise therefore I would need to speak with the owner. I was provided with the number to the Pancake House in Lawrenceville where the owner A. Salas is allegedly available .....tomorrow morning! Worst...
