Acme Comics — Local services in Greensboro

Edit: Let me make it clear! Acme is a great place! They have taken the mandatory mask restriction down and ask that you wear them but not necessary. My review below has absolutely nothing to do with them as a store! I do state I love the store and that they are knowledgeable and prices are great. Everyone has their own opinion about places people and things. I have been going here since they opened which tells ya smth about my age but i now share this place with my daughter who loves it almost as much as I do if not more. The older she gets the more she grows into her own but this is the one thing we still connect on. So I was a lil upset when I couldn't walk in with her. So for those of you new or old pros at it, this is a great place there are other places out there and other outlets to buy collectibles, but none will help you more so than these guys. They love what they do and it shows. Some have said unfriendly staff. Well we all have good and bad days. So try to remember that when writing reviews. Ok enough of my "edit" if looking for a great place to learn about or if know what you want this is the place to get it or find it.

I love Acme don't get me wrong. But I can't wear a mask, I took my daughter today and couldn't go in because of it. So I had to sit in hot car while she went in. Now I know I could have just left but why? I still would have had to take her later. It's not that I don't want to wear a mask or anything like that and it's not relevant as to why. Medical or not i should be able to go anywhere I like without having to put on a mask. So that is reason for 4star review. Other than that I love acme comics they are a great store and have great prices. So please don't let my 4 star mask review stop you from going unless like me you can't wear masks.

New post 5-9-2022 I love Acme Comics! Saturday (5-7-2022) was free comic book day! The 1st in 2yrs. And the rain did nothing to stop it. They continued on with it and even made room for the vendors inside so their product and pictures wouldn't get messed up. Even tho I was hurting and didn't feel good i went and had a wonderful time! Met some great people and artist, next year mark it on your calendars 1st Saturday in May and come...

My wife said she may stop allowing me to go to Acme Comics because if I go, she knows I’ll be talking about it for awhile! That’s honestly the best thing I can say about a store! I always have a great experience there because of great conversations with a team that knows me and asks how I’m doing and they know their stuff! I always end up finding too many things of interest to read or toys/trinkets to put up on my shelves and it’s not just because of their great selection! The excitement of the staff and what they recommend is contagious! Even when busy (let’s face it Acme is a great store and people know their superb reputation and people want to visit), they always make time for me and offer great suggestions based on my off-the-wall or somewhat ignorant questions!

I first fell in love with Acme Comics on Free Comics Book Day in May 2012 (the weekend the first Avengers movie came out). I cannot recommend it highly enough and if I ever move away from Greensboro, Acme Comics will still be my local comic book store!

I can’t speak highly enough about this store. The staff is always welcoming and friendly when you go in. I myself do not really read comics but my 10 year old in the past few months has really gotten into them thanks to Acme. He looks looks forward to going as often as possible to look around and to get his subscriptions. I appreciate even more how the recognize this and speak more towards him than myself or wife. When recommending new books they make sure to let us know of any possible non kid friendly things as well. The customer service is top notch and they really get to know their customers. On one instance even though it was not part of his subscription because it was a mini series release they got one of the books in and held it to the side for him so that he could complete his series because they wanted him to have it “Infinite Destiney Black Cat.” If your looking for a place that actually values it’s customers and actually wants to get to know you then this is the...
