My original review was just 3 weeks ago. Since then, my rating has dropped from a 5 star to a 2.5 star really. Everyone is short staffed so I am beyond patient about things going in. Tonight 3 items I liked had no price listed on the shelf or on the item. I held them in my buggy to check the price at checkout. Bedding sale signs were up but it was unclear if it applied to all the bedding. I tried to check online as not to bother anyone about it but couldn't find it there. So now I'm at checkout. The beautiful young black woman with long hair was pleasant enough until I started asking questions. The attitude came in swiftly when I had to get prices checked. I then asked where did I have to go online to pull up the coupon since the barcode wasn't popping up as usual. (Online has changed a little) I was already signed in and showed her that I had the coupon just didn't know where to click to get the barcode. She said that meant it was an online only coupon. Which I disputed because I knew that it wasn't. So I clicked around a bit more and finally got it to pop up. Crisis averted. When I decided not to get an item (because when it was price checked, it was too expensive) eyes were rolled. When she told me the bedding was indeed on sale, I asked if I could go back and grab another set since I'd prefer that one since it's on sale. She said fine and suspended my order. I went back to realize the other set wasn't the right brand so I came back up to pay and leave. She's gone. There's now an older white gentleman there. I said I had a suspended order and he rung it up. I asked for a larger bag because I had a very large sheet pan. I was told there were no larger bags. I was staring right at the bags but decided to just leave. When I got in my car, I did a quick search to see if there was a similar comforter like the one I left in the store. Found one and bought it online and went back in to return the comforter I just purchased and also purchased more items. The young woman was back at the register and was on speakerphone with her young daughter. Unprofessional but she had no customers so I guess it doesn't hurt. Well when I went back to checkout, she put the young daughter on hold and while I'm asking a few more questions (again everything isn't signed so I needed answers) eyes were rolled and she told her daughter, who was now speaking to "hold on because mommy is at work". Just not the level of service I'm used to. This time I was given the bigger bags though so that was a win.
I always find great deals at big lots. There seem to be some newer employees that are still learning the system currently so be patient and they'll take care of you. I've also picked up a few online orders from this store...
Read moreMy 2nd terrible experience with furniture assistance. Although, staff member check the back for a bed I wanted to purchase and it was out of stock, I asked him to call store in Denton, TX where I was relocating from Greensboro NC he determined it wasnât worth his time to call. He said âby the time he would call I could get it from google and call the store in Texas myselfâ. He said âit was Store manager policy for them not to waste time to make a call to another store for a customer because they could be doing something elseâ. He tells me he had a lot of work to do. Then asked if I needed the manager, I said âyes.â He callEd for Store Manager who responded on walkie âIâm on the registerâ I then told him never mind and to cancel the call for manager. We talked about the process for 10 minutes. In those minutes he could have called the other store to locate the King size bed.. I left the store of course disappointed. While sitting in my in Big Lots parking lot the same salesman (Quincy) comes out the store, get in his car and leave after telling me he had so much to do and couldnât call. WOW WHERE HAS CUSTOMER SERVICE GONE!!!! What if I didnât know how to google. I googled, called the store in Denton TX received great customer service, told me where I could locate the bed in 2 minutes. Manager there was very...
Read moreUpdate: the Big Lots on Eastchester in High Point was very kind and allowed me to get two of the clocks with no issues! Never complained, gave me an attitude, or tried to belittle me! I will be going there because of the excellent customer service over the one in Greensboro.
Lisa had a horrible attitude from the beginning of our interaction when she took it upon herself to walk up during my transaction. I went in store today to do the promotion that was being offered and the young lady at the counter told me I could do two separate transactions since I was using two different rewards. Lisa states that itâs one per household with an attitude and I stated that this has never been a problem with other promotions nor does it state it in the email. I contacted customer support and they also stated that it was one per account NOT one per household. When I went back to show this to her she continued with her attitude telling me she wasnât going back and forth. If you claim to be in a managerial position you should 1. Understand the promotions and if not get clarity 2. Know how to address people especially if you imitate the interactions. Very poor customer service on top of things being a mess in the store. Again, Iâve never had a problem until today but believe me I will not be very...
