The Good: The prices here aren't a bargain, but it's a collectible store, not a thrift store, so the prices are quite fair. The layout and selection are also excellent. They seem to take a lot of time to organize and arrange items.
The Bad: I've been in this store a few times and I've yet to be greeted with a smile and conversation. The people who work there are most often talking to one another and essentially ignore you, aside from the occasional insincere greeting at the door.
The Ugly: Last week, I went in to possibly sell an item. I got one of the guys' attention, explained my situation, showed him photos of the item, and had a rather lengthy conversation. He seemed genuinely interested and told me to come in during the week. I came in this morning with the item shortly after they opened, and within seconds of entering, I was told they weren't interested. The guy never smiled and never made eye contact. He barely looked up from what he was doing at the counter. He also told me that I should call first next time. I told him that I came in with pictures and spoke with someone last week, and he just shrugged and said "Okay."
If these guys can't communicate with one another to avoid sending mixed messages to the customer, the least they can do is provide some customer service and maybe the occasional friendly comment.
Conclusion: Part of the appeal of going into a local collectible store is the experience. If you can't offer a fun, friendly, and professional atmosphere for fellow sci-fi & fantasy nerds, maybe you should just sell your stuff online and save the overhead. I...

First and foremost, Nerdbombers is an awesome space for collectors and the owner is a stand up guy. There is no intentional price gouging nor any rip-off schemes going on here. Anyone that doesn't understand that there is a need to turn a profit on items for a small business is ignorant. If you have a question about why something is priced a certain way, ask the owner. Just because you don't like/agree with his answer doesn't mean HE is wrong.
I have sold and bought plenty of items from this store. You know what I do if I don't like the price or am not willing to accept the offer? I leave the item in store or I tell them I can't agree to that price and they give me my stuff back; it's simple! The owner is running a business, he can't give into every customer demand (even though I have personally seen him go above and beyond for customers in his store!).
Besides, at the end of the day, I see what this place does with its profits. They GIVE BACK to the community. You can be mad about a price, you can disagree with an offer, you can even get butthurt that the staff were a little gruff the day you went in (First, we are all human...you don't have a bad day? Second, the guy deals with theft ALL the time! They even stole his personal phone!!!); however, to blanket slam the business for one bad experience is ridiculous.
Great store, great owner, and an overall great representative of what our community can...
Read moreThis place holds the essence of my childhood and the growth of my adulthood. It's not just a store; it's a treasure chest of memories. As a child, I always held on to the toys and collectibles that shaped my world, each one carrying a piece of my heart. I remember one Christmas like it was yesterday—when the TMNT craze was just beginning, and I received a mountain of TMNT gifts. I stayed up all night, completely immersed in building the Technodrome, the Party Van, and countless other cherished sets. Those toys were more than just plastic; they were the doorway to a world of adventure and imagination.
Walking into this place brings back that flood of memories. Every time I spot a classic item, it tugs at my heartstrings. The staff here? Some are warm and welcoming, others are more reserved—but that’s part of the charm. I was lucky enough to meet the owner, and he's just as passionate about this place as I am. The point system for rewards is a delightful touch, and every purchase feels like a win. Though there’s a TMNT Sewer Playset that I’d give anything to own, its price tag reminds me of how dreams often feel just out of reach. But that doesn’t change the fact that this place is a gem. It’s a must-visit for anyone who wants to revisit the magic of...
