I have to say, in the very first beginning, I thought it was an ok place to live. But, when after moved in several months, the company invited the third party to control the parking place, charges people if you want to park in a convenient spot, and they requested to use parking decal, which is fine. About two months ago, I worked in the weekend on call, my husband bought some grocery stuff for me, he did not know about the decal thing because he is not the resident of the apartment, and there is no obvious sign either! only a very small tiny instruction at the side which no one can see when you drive into the apartment territory! My husband parked in an empty space and put those fresh food in my refrigerator. Just 5 minutes, when he got off the apartment, he found that his car was booted! And there was a little note said that he needed to pay for the fee($140). He called immediately because he had a doctor's appointment right after that. Someone answered the phone, said he would be there in 5 minutes. Very unfortunately, the guy came after 45 minutes! Because of his delayed, my husband was unable to see his doctor. I requested multiple times to talk with the company's representative, and also asked the apartment manager to arrange a time so that we three parties can sit together to solve the problem. I gave the manager of the apartment multiple possible times for her to arrange a meeting. But at first, she told me whatever she has time we can sit together to talk, I told her that I have to work at the time she is available. Then I requested again with given available windows in order for her to arrange a time for the unfair $140 punishment fee for my husband's 5 minutes and 45 minutes waiting time for nothing, even no apology for it at all! I asked them since the guy could boot my husband's car in 5 minutes, why he could not come in 5 minutes after my husband called him while he promised he would come in 5 minutes? What if in that 5 minutes, my husband had some emergent healthcare issues, who can be in charge of the responsibility? The attitude of the company is NOT acceptable! And they even said, they cannot distinguish whether my husband park 5 minutes or 50 minutes. For the man's 45 minutes delay, they didn't say anything! So, basically, they charge as quick as they can! That is their philosophy! This was how I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've lived here for 3 years at the point I just moved out. I wanted to move last year but we decided to stay for another lease because of personal things happening at the time. I can honestly say the maintenance crew is great. Unfortunately I have had problems with the office and outside hired maintenance.
At one point our shower needed to be worked on because of a loose tile that was leaking into the apartment below us. They covered the area with a trash bag and told us we could continue to shower until the outside hired maintenance person came to work on it. Then they tell us we need to be out of the house while he is working because of the fumes from the paint. THEN they tell us that we can't use the shower for I believe it was 2 days and offered to let us use their model apartment shower but we could only use it when we could get ahold of one of the maintenance guys that lives here. When I contacted the office to ask for a reduction in rent for the month they never got back to me. Not to mention the paint job on the tub was atrocious and the regular maintenance guy had to come in and basically regrout it because a month later and it had still not dried in the seams of the tub despite us waiting to use the shower as directed. And when I contacted the office to let them know it was still wet they said I shouldn't have used bleach to clean the tub despite no one ever telling me that.
On a separate occasion they came in to patch holes in our sub floor (yes there are holes in the sub floor) and not only did the maintenance man they hired do an awful job making our floor creakier and bumpier than it was before but he also left our entire apartment covered in a layer of dust from sanding the sub floor.
Overrall the office has taken a nosedive in the past 3 years and they have raised the rent about 300 bucks collectively. Don't get me wrong it's not an awful apartment but it's definitely not "newly remodeled luxury living" and they are charging like it is. It's just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBEWARE OF NEGATIVE CREDIT REPORTING EVEN IF YOU PAY OFF ALL YOUR DUES.
I was a tenant for the past 2 years at the park forest apartments and decided to vacate from their premises on 7/21. I was sent a final bill to my new address by the Park Forest Management and had been asked to pay dues before due date 8/21. There was no payment method or option mentioned in the final bill so I called the apartment contact number and spoke with Miss Caillat and had got information from her to settle all dues using cashier's check paid in the name of park forest apartments. I got the cashier's check on 8/16 and had given it on the same day to Miss Caillat (Leasing Manager) in the presence of property manager Brittany and had submitted all keys. After 2 months I started to get calls from Hunter Warfield but when picked up no one will answer. I get nearly 10 calls per day. Initially we thought it could be some scam but later this month I came to know there was a collection account on my credit report and had affected it by 46 points. When looking into it further I came to know that park forest was the original creditor who gave the negative report. I simply don't understand what is all this about. I paid all my dues and was a guy who paid his rent on time but still they reported negative credit. I got a call from Miss. Caillat stating that it was Park Forest Management's mistake and that they thought the submitted cashier's check was for another apartment and not mine. She apologized for the mistake and promised that someone will look into it and respond within 3 days. This was resolved after 5 days.
Would like to personally appreciate the help extended by...
