We spent somewhere between $8-10K at the store to get sofa, recliner, table, hutch, two mattresses, and two reclining beds. Besides having to have the table delivered twice because the first delivery had pieces broken off of it and dents, and a lamp broken during the second delivery, the biggest problem is adjustable King bed. In the store the sales person showed us the 5 or so adjustment cylinders so the bed could be lowered to whatever is the best height. When delivered, there were only two cylinders (shown in photo). When we asked the delivery people to lower it, they recommended against it as it was going to lower it too much because there were only two cylinders, making it too low. What? We look under the bed see that it is indeed two cylinders (not what we saw in the store). Since my wife is short, she now requires a stool to get in and out of the bed which is unacceptable (we bought it so we could lower it). I'm now going to invite my friends over to see if we can lower it the one cylinder to see if it is "too low" and if it is, I'll take it to a metal fabrication facility to see if they can cut the four cylinders in half without ruining their tensile strength. This is an enormous pain to have to do all of this for something I paid thousands for and expected the sales people to reliably understand the product and what is important to their customers. Also, I expect the delivery people to be more careful. In addition, the rocking recliner has squeaked since it was delivered.

Have had wonderful customer service with Havertys in Greenville. Will update once everything has been delivered, but so far so good! As stated previously, I wanted to update when my furniture got here. After a long 6-month wait, it is here! The delay was not the fault of Havertys....it was all supply chain stuff with the manufacture. But during those months, Chris Dickenson (our salesman) communicated frequently and clearly, which was all we could ask. He has been wonderful through the entire process. And Bobbi, our designer, was wonderful to work with. They made three different deliveries so that we could have the items we ordered as soon as possible. In every case, delivery was smooth and the guys were outstanding. Havertys' customer service was top notch, and I would not hesitate to use them again. I would definitely seek out Chris and Bobbi! Thank you!!!

Customer service is not dead. Theresa and John are absolutely wonderful to deal with. We did what everyone else did and downsized, sold all our old furniture and bought new. Well, we didn't really time that well because of all the supply chain issues. From the get go, Theresa was honest about timelines and communicated if something was going to be pushed back and when something came in sooner. There was an issue with one piece, our chaise, it came in and didn't quite match the couch. After discussing the issue with Theresa, and John, 3 days later we had a new perfect chaise. This is how it's supposed to be done. They did their due diligence, which is completely expected, but there was no inkling of not taking care of our problem. Awesome job, will be back in the future and recommend whenever possible.

In mid-June 2012 I moved to Upstate South Carolina for a new career. After a decade of owning "Big Box Stores" particle board furniture and a hand-me down living room set, I decided it was time to upgrade to some high quality furnishings that would actually last and age well. Therein, I set out visiting numerous furniture stores across northwest South Carolina from Spartanburg through Greenville. At each store I visited, I encountered the same story about materials used in the furniture. The story goes that "real wood" is so scarce and expensive these days that virtually no company uses it and if you can find "real wood" you're going to pay many thousands of dollars for it. Instead, the furniture stores I visited had sales people assure that "everyone" (including Havertys) sells furniture that uses "composite board" which is "really better than real wood." I was tempted to buy a "composite board" table with a plastic marble-look alike table top from one store, but decided to check out Havertys first.

And - I am so glad I went to Havertys!

First, the service at Havertys was decisively better than the other many stores I visited. The sales person greeted me promptly and invited me to browse (as I said I wanted to do) with no pressure. At all of the other stores I had visited, the sales people descended upon me with a pack-like mentality, insisting that they had just what I needed. This was not the case at Havertys.

After identifying a few selections I was interested in, the sales person at Havertys made himself available for questions and answers. All while talking with him, I crawled beneath and around the furniture to check the build. What a surprise - all of the Havertys pieces featured real wood! No composite board. No particle board. No nonsense - just authentic, actual wood construction. And, instead of a table featuring a faux marble (plastic) top, I found one with a real marble top. Since this was my first time seeking good furniture, I was surprised that the other places claims were false and was motivated to buy from Havertys.

Narrowing my furniture selections, the sales person was helpful but not overbearing. He readily had different furniture pieces moved all about the showroom so I could compare and contrast the items to make sure my selections would all fit together well. And finally, when my decisions were made, he assisted me in the final purchase and delivery all with zero hassle, no pressure, no prodding, and no nonsense.

My delivery was precise on the date scheduled, although it was an hour or so late. This wasn't a big deal for me, as I well understand that deliveries tend to not be exact on time unless one is paying for overnight air service. The delivery workers took great care with my furniture, set it up properly with no issues, and even took down (and put back up) a bedroom door to get some large pieces into the room. All of this was done with no damage and no hassles.

Following my purchases, Havertys followed-up with me to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. Needless to say, everything is. I am thrilled with my furniture purchases from Havertys. The quality is exemplary and exceptional and the value is tremendous. I paid perhaps 20 to 30% more than what I would have with other furniture stores yet have high quality, solid, real-wood pieces rather than "composite board" and plastic furnishings. And, a few weeks after my purchases, Havertys contacted me about how one item I bought had dropped in price by $100 for a sale. They refunded me $100! Fantastic!

I plan on shopping at Havertys whenever I need new furniture in the future. The quality and value of their furnishings is beyond comparison, and their service was...

If you're shopping at Havertys, do yourself a favor and ask for Dave—he’s truly outstanding! I recently had the pleasure of working with him to find the perfect sofa, and I cannot rave enough about my experience. I came in on Friday, November 22, just days before Thanksgiving, on a mission to find a beautiful, high-quality sofa that was in stock and could be delivered to my home before the holiday. A tall order, I know, but Dave made it happen seamlessly, with enthusiasm and expertise.

From the moment I walked in, Dave’s energy and knowledge were unparalleled. He answered every question I had with confidence and went above and beyond to explain all the incredible perks of shopping at Havertys (seriously, they’re awesome!). His genuine pride in the company and the quality of their furniture was obvious and infectious—I couldn’t help but feel excited about my purchase because of his enthusiasm!

Not only did Dave find me a gorgeous sofa that checked all my boxes, but he made sure to call the warehouse to ask if they could deliver it before Thanksgiving. Initially, the system showed delivery for the day after Thanksgiving, but Dave went the extra mile to advocate for me. Within just an hour or two, he left me the most cheerful voicemail, letting me know that the warehouse had agreed to deliver my sofa on Wednesday, November 27—just in time! His excitement for me was so genuine, and it truly made my day.

Dave’s exceptional service didn’t just meet my expectations—it blew them out of the water. Thanks to him, I have the perfect sofa in my home, ready for the holiday, and I didn’t have to compromise on quality or style. He turned what could have been a stressful, last-minute situation into an absolute joy.

If Havertys has more team members like Dave, it’s no wonder they’re such a top-notch company. Thank you, Dave, for going above and beyond—I’ll be telling everyone I know about...

Christine Deyoung was absolutely amazing at helping us find and pick out the perfect furniture and matress for our new home. She was very knowledgeable of all the products on the floor, explained the benefits of different items, and listened when we were explaining what we liked and didn't like. She was not pushy, overly "salesman" like and we never felt "pressured" to make a purchase. She was friendly, patient, kind, and never once made us feel like we were wasting her time with our millions of questions. I will definitely be returning to Haverty's simply because of her outstanding help. If you're looking for someone to help you find the perfect piece of furniture... I highly recommend Christine.

I'd also like to note that the assistant manager, John, was also helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.. and the guest service rep, Nancy, too. Really, everyone we came in contact with were great and while I can't remember all of their names... It was overall a great experience.

Lastly, my husband and I were in the middle of a move and came into the store "underdressed" in clothes we'd been working in and I never felt "judged" or treated like we couldn't afford anything in the store. I visited another furniture store in the area (before visiting Haverty's) and felt I was treated poorly by the staff at this other store because I didn't "appear" to be able to afford their furniture. NO ONE at Haverty's made me feel that way. That, and Christine's over-the-top help... it why we bought from (and will always go back to) Haverty's. Thanks again to the Greenville...
