So my review will be in two parts:
my own glaring error
the service
I’m sure the tea is alright in and of itself, but it is entirely too sweet. I’ve never been here before so I assumed from my experience at other tea places that the “normal” amount of sweetener would be as it stated - an actual normal amount of sweetener. My error (and possibly theirs because the writing is really just that small) is that I couldn’t see the teeny words on the top of the menu board where it has something like six levels of sweetness where the normal level is second from the top. Had I known that, I probably would have gotten the second from the bottom or the bottom - the 30% or 0% as I saw on the table menu later. The tea was so sweet at the “normal” level that all I could taste was sugar. I got the winter melon tea with boba and the boba was fine, but I could not taste the melon AT ALL. The tea was absolutely terrible due to the sugar. Drank it and felt like I had to immediately brush my teeth, but I can’t since I had to go back to work. I am giving it a hopeful 4 star because I want to go back and order what I pray is an appropriate sugar level and see how it is after that. So with that, on to the next.
the service just wasn’t the best. They weren’t super friendly which is fine - I just wanted some good tea so I don’t care how much you talk to me. But after the disaster that was my sugar water, I went to order a second one in hopes that I could get it far less sweet. The staff members were sitting at the opposite end of the store on their tablet/phones. Which isn’t a problem if they actually pay attention to the store every now and again, but they didn’t. I didn’t want to rudely wave them down or clear my throat to get them to notice me, so I stood at the register for a few minutes and waited. After a while of me watching them have their own conversation with their eyes glued to their devices, I just decided to leave. I would have bought a drink had they just paid a little better attention to their work.
All in all, not the best of experiences, but I do want to go back and give them another chance. And I may change the review here upon doing so. But take at least the first part as a warning if you are like me and not a fan of...
Read moreEasy to park and I got the app to order my beverage. I picked taro milk tea with brown sugar boba and a milk cap (aka cheese foam). The cheese foam was my favorite part. I also liked that I could customize my drink to have less sugar. The brown sugar boba took over my drink and I don’t think the taro flavor was strong enough to start with. My drink was not the purple color I’m used to seeing when I get taro milk tea at various other places. My drink was ready quickly and the shop is cute. I thought the price was a bit higher than I’m used to for a bubble tea. I do like that there’s an app and you can earn rewards points with it. The sweetness level of my drink was just right for me. So overall? I’d like to try some other options in this area to compare. I’m open to going back to this spot but I’d try a different...
Read moreI know of this brand of milk tea and I completely approve of their tiger sugar milk tea! And close to the supercharger so it's a win-win-win!
As a frequent consumer of cow lactation based products mixed with leaf boiled extracts, I quite enjoy getting one time to time to treat myself and a +1. This time I ordered a brown sugar milk tea with red bean, because I too enjoy the same red beans as my grandmother and your Ajumma-in-laws enjoy. I am okay to admit it.
But this chain brand is respectable and well known in major US cities in having a rather unremarkable, yet expected quality of milk tea here...
