ALDI — Local services in Greenwood

I have been to the newly updated Aldi in Greenwood, SC 2 or 3 times. My first impression was how ackward the parking lot had become with the new curb across the entire front of the store. It took extra effort to return the shopping cart, when you had to go around and to the end of the row of cars instead of being able to between the cars. There are 2 places to return your carts but the one on the side walk in front of the store is not under any cover or were there any other carts to hook your cart to and get your quarter back. The other cart corral was overflowing and if it had been raining many of them would have been wet. My latest visit was yesterday, July 17. It was about 5:30pm. The produce section had a lot of empty boxes and very messy. The floors were streaked and dirty. There were several unmanned pallets of boxes blocking the aisles making access to the shelves difficult. When I got to the check out, the young woman greeted me pleasantly, but in her effort to "efficiently" scan my groceries, threw them haphazardly in the cart. The cereal boxes were bent up when heavier items were put on top. The cart was quickly filled on the bottom and she slid all the boxes lying flat over squishing them further to make room for bigger items. I like the Aldi brands and was able to find what I came in to purchase but I will shop at the Aldi in Laurens or Greenville, SC...

New update My daughter & I did have a bad experience with one of the cashiers this visit. I've never had a problem with this lady but she was very disrespectful & rude to me & my adult daughter today. My daughter was very very angry & the lady messed up my daughters order she tried to say my daughter didn't give her a certain bill my daughter told her to check her register again and she did an saw my daughter was right. That the lady had put the bill in the wrong slot. I just looked at it as maybe she was having a bad day. But her action really were not called for on any occasion

Because it's about 12 miles from where I live I don't come here as often as I do closer stores but their prices are consistently better and, on most items, they maintain good levels of stock. They've rearranged/remodeled since i was here last and seem much better organized, neater and their produce and other displays are more effective. I really like their produce and the quality of most everything is as good or better than store brand in other places for less money. I haven't used much of their fresh meats although I've heard that they are comparable to other stores. The saying that you get what you pay for doesn't apply to Aldi in my opinion.
