Dear Store Manager
I am writing to express my concern regarding an experience I had at The Sock Shoppe on February 13,2025 . As a regular customer who has always enjoyed shopping at your establishment, I was disappointed by the interaction I had with one of your cashiers, [The receipt name says “ Gail” african American woman with tattoo on her hand, finger nails were slightly pink and had braids].
Upon reaching the register, I was greeted courteously by the cashier. However, after scanning my items and providing the total, I attempted to pay using my card. Unfortunately, the card reader displayed an “error” message. At the cashier’s request, I tried inserting my card three more times, but the error persisted. The cashier then asked, “Are you sure you have enough money on your card?” This remark implied that the issue was due to insufficient funds on my part, which I found surprising and somewhat embarrassing.
To resolve the situation, I paid in cash. As I was leaving, I noticed another customer experiencing similar issues with the card reader. We discussed our respective banks and found that we did not share the same bank, suggesting that the problem might have been with the store’s payment system rather than our individual accounts.
I felt embarrassed by the implication that I lacked sufficient funds, especially in a public setting. I believe this situation could have been handled more professionally. A more appropriate response from the cashier might have been to acknowledge the possibility of a technical issue with the card reader and offer alternative payment solutions without making assumptions about the customer’s financial status.
I hope this feedback is helpful and that it can be used to improve customer service at your store. I look forward to continuing to shop at The Sock Shoppe and hope for a more positive experience in the...
Read moreSales are FANTASTIC when you get the notification before it was over. Still haven't gotten to make the Infamous'Towel Sale'. Quality is amazing. Love buying T-shirt in quantities for family printing for us to have the most original designed and expansive color variety I've seen anywhere in one location. Been going here all my life, my uncle lived on Futral Road all my life until he passed. I remember my grandparents talking about the gatherings they'd attended with the original owners. Miss 46 yrs ago. Time was so much more family and friends driven gatherings sometimes for no other reason than it was a Sunday, going to Gma's for dinner, all 13 kids, their kids and in a few cases, your kids kids! Multi generation, Sunday family gatherings around food should be made into a law at least once a month! No matter situation, love conquers all! Sorry for my detour down memory lane, then splatted with my opinions. The Sock Shoppe is a 5★ outlet shopping experience for...
Read moreWhile the Sock Shoppe is widely known throughout Georgia as an old warehouse type outlet store with discount prices, it's hit or miss as to what is discounted... If you need socks, they have what you want at reasonably low prices, but their men's wear I found to be way over priced! I suppose they have to make up for losses somewhere, but I'm no stranger to retail, and socks are a dime a dozen... Still, you may find the experience rewarding enough if you're willing to shop for awhile as they have a large selection of clothes and bedding and stuff... Yes, I said it... Stuff! Still, I've seen better... Like at Waterbeds AND Stuff... I'm still trying to figure out what exactly qualifies as, "stuff"... But, if you need socks and you want it to be an adventure... Go to the Sock Shoppe in Griffin... They have really good deals right now on winter wear, like hats and gloves and scarves......
