UPDATED REVIEW 7/20/2025 5/5 STARS
It is easy to share a negative experience online, with little risk in doing so. In my experience, more valuable than any negative review is understanding how the recipient responds thereafter.
In response to my prior concerns, I received a call from Jonathan, the owner of this location. His approach was greatly appreciated, with willingness to hear my situation and share his own. While many companies aim to resolve any bad experience or negative review, rare is the empathetic response from the business owner.
Jonathan’s resolution to the matter greatly exceeded my expectations and after receiving a replacement order with bonus cinnamon sticks and an added boost I chose to give to the team.
Overall all, I can say with confidence I will remember this experience for it’s unexpected, positive result.
What began with pure frustration has resolved to be one of my more positive pizza experiences on record. Thank you and will be ordering again soon!
ORIGINAL REVIEW 7/18/2025 1/5 STARS
For $50, one of the worst pizzas (and chicken) I've ever purchased.
Living on the edge of Grosse Pointe in Detroit's East English Village neighborhood means few delivery pizza options. These guys seem to be ramping up marketing in Summer 2025 so I figured we'd give it a shot.
The order arrived 20 mins early, certainly a positive. That's it however. Only two things ordered -- a thin-crust pizza and boneless chicken pieces.
The pizza -- again a "thin crust pepperoni" -- was so coated in butter it was dripping out of each side of the box. Four pieces separated from the pizza itself due to the amount of liquid butter and upon initially opening the box, one slid out. This is literally inedible and exceptionally sloppy.
The chicken -- cool to the touch, even cooler inside. Nothing makes me feel as uneasy as partially cooked poultry, so while these can be re-heated -- initially also inedible.
So to wrap up, they'll deliver to your home and possibly early, however this food was so bad it had to be shared. I would've brought this directly to the attention of the company itself, however "surprisingly" their email confirmation offers no method to contact the company and calls following the delivery went unanswered.
This is a real, honest review and the food was so bad I would avoid this place at all costs. The idea that the current Google Review for this location exceeds a 4-point rating underscores the obvious spend on digital marketing.
I have plenty of photos to illustrate the butter part of all this, I'll give the Cottage Inn team a sec to respond before adding those to this review.
So for $50 bucks enjoy a meal that will have you running back to your local gas station for...
Read moreNot what I was expecting. I've always loved Cottage Inn. I use to go to the one in Auburn Hills all the time. So I know good Cottage Inn pizza. And at this GP location it was very average. Crust was barely flavored and was tough. There wasn't any real gourmet flavor to it. Just bland. Cheese minimum, dough dry. I've gotten more burst of flavor from pizza thats made and sold at a corner store. Where was the herb flavors like the Cottage Inn in Auburn Hills has and the cheese. Auburn Hills cottage inn pizza was so rich in flavor you can't even finish it all. Pizza here was disappointing in every bite. Dry, bland, nothing gourmet. Very...
Read moreThe pizza is good I would recommend it. WARNING Before you can place an order it is mandatory you check the terms and condition box. It is unbelievable JUST TO ORDER A PIZZA that they would have the audacity to trick you into signing a release for your personal information to be shared ( most likely sold). I get so many unsolicited junk calls everyday. I couldn't get the pizza delivered I refused to allow them share...
