I've been a few times now. The food is always excellent and reasonably priced.
The concept for the beer is otherworldly. I don't know why other breweries haven't figured out what Takabru has already done. When you arrive they give you a card which opens a tab. You place the card on the reader I front of any of the more than a dozen brews on tap. It's dispensed by the ounce just like a gas pump. Try a little or try a lot. It's up to you. No need to buy flights to try them all. Dispense a half an ounce and bottoms up. Then use the glass wash that's at either end of the taps to make sure your next taste is only what you are supposed to be tasting. You can easily try them all for just a few bucks. Once you find the one that talks to your soul, fill up a glass and head to a table.
Once you're at the table there is no need to wait for a server. Scan the QR code and you menu appears. You order and pay from your phone. The order goes straight to the kitchen. Their web app was easy and intuitive to use. My food always arrived before I finished my first glass.
Because of the experience and the great service they get a solid 5 stars. I do wish they would make some higher ABV beers. None of the beers were very memorable. My only wish is that some of them stood out as a favorite. On the other hand I'm a little glad they don't because I would be spending all of my money at this place if they did.
If you are tired of the standard I'd terrible service on the island, you'll be very refreshed...

Our waiter was well-intentioned and upbeat, but was unable to answer basic questions about the menu ( I still don't know what the house salad dressing is, besides the fact that they make it themselves). The fact he went back and forth between our table and the ordering machine inputing our order as we asked for it was similarly bizarre.
We ordered both the Ribeye and the Sirloin on a volcanic slab for the Black Rock like experience, but were dissapointed with extremely bland meats that appeared to have absolutely no seasoning whatsoever. We bathed them in as much salt as we could muster but overall left a lot to be desired.
All in all, it was around 80 dollars after tip, which felt very expensive given the quality of the food received. Tostones were on point and were the highlight of the meal, which probably should probably not be the case at this...
Read moreI went here with my wife, sister and brother in-law since they have a pretty good selection of beer but the IPA was the beer of choice. Which you can sample all of them before you pick the one you want. You get a card and swipe the one you would like and this measures the amount you take and sends the charge to the card, which you pay the total when you are done. They are also known for steaks cooked on a volcanic Stonegrill right at your table, nobody did that. I decided on the "Cheesy Burger" and fries which was a little to heavy on the mozzarella y queso crema (mozzarella and cream cheese) it was the dominate flavor, but the burger was good. My sister and brother in-law split the chicken wings and Avocado Sliders and my wife had Chicken Alcapurrias (a fritter made from mashed plantains and stuffed with chicken) with sweet potato fries . Over all a good place to eat and have a beer and the prices are not bad for...
