Freshmart Plazoleta 169 — Local services in Guaynabo

I come weekly to this Freshmart. Every once in awhile I’ve opened a package and either found mold or bugs. It’s happened a few times (mold in the oatmeal, a bug in the salad, mold on the gluten free bread) but I’ve always let it slide and didn’t take the time to return the item and continued to go. Today I bought a few yogurts, as soon as I got home I opened one. it tasted sour and it was hard, not like yogurt (the expiration date was in a week) it was obviously bad so I opened a new one. The second one had green mold layered over the top. Then I opened the third and noticed it wasn’t completely sealed. The 4th was sour and hard as well. Finally the 5th one was good so I ate that one and kept the 6th as well. I drove back to Freshmart and tried to return the yogurts. They gave me money back for two but not for the other two because I tasted them. It is not really about the money, I’m a continued costumer and spend a lot of money at this place. The cashier (could’ve been the manager) was very condescending. I have her name but won’t post it because maybe she was just having a bad day or maybe that is just her demeanor. But the customer service was definitely not there on her part. I’ll continue to go but only for certain items that I can’t find anywhere else. Will never do a full grocery shopping at this location again.

Edit (2 years later): I added a star because I recently returned and had a better experience. The cashier was kind and professional. I’ll come for a few specialty items, but still won’t do...

Worst Freshmart in Puerto Rico, with the worst employees and customer service. Last time I come for sure. I ordered a oatmeal and peanut butter smoothie and it tasted like soggy water... When I went up to try and change it the lady told me to wait a moment. She continued to clean the table and do things at a ridiculously slow pace as waited patiently. Then she came to me asked me what was wrong, I let her know it did not taste at all as what was advertised and it was not good at all. She told me to wait. She asked her manager “supposedly” and told me because I ordered it with almond milk that why it taste like that and I have to pay it. You have to wait atleast 35min+ for the worst food in the restaurant buizz here and the employees are a lazy mess. Don’t waste...

The Freshmart chain is truly my favorite health market choice in various towns of the island. This store is much larger than many other Freshmart locations and also a lot more space for seating to eat or drink your coffee or other beverages. Well it super clean floors no cluttered aisles lots of staff available bathrooms also inside, truly makes this particular market stand out. Plenty of parking for free inside their lot and the foods and specialty fresh squeezed drinks are well...
