I’ve never been treated so rudely. Out of 5 women working at reception not one said hello or acknowledged me. I finally just started asking one for help. I Brought a homeless dog in that I had neutered and fostered and was met with complete disrespect. My conversation started with the lady telling me it was against the law to leave the dog in the car to come talk to her. It was 7:30 in the morning and cool out. The dog has some behavioral issues and i couldn’t foster with small children at home and she asked me if I knew it took 5 months for the hormones to settle after neutering. As if I was wrong to bring the dog in. She didn’t bother to hear the dogs story. She took a picture of dog and my id before telling me they didn’t have space and a 2 month waiting list. Complete waste of time. And zero compassion shown. Who treats people like this? They tell you how overwhelmed they are but they treat those that have the means and time to volunteer so poorly. Me and my 8 year old left in tears and feeling dismissed just like the animals of Puerto Rico. How can I help another homeless dog when even the “humane society” doesn’t...
Read moreI came in with a kitten I found at my yard apparently abandoned by it mother since didn't see one for three days after checking all video footage. They weren't accepting it because they were full. They were going to give me food and stuff for basic care. I told them I don't have pets because I am allergic to dogs and cats and couldn't take care of it. They could see I had gloves and I had it in a box since I was not going to let it die. They gave me the phone to the Humacao center but no answer. I went to Pet Smart after calling several friends who have cats in order to ask them if they wanted a baby yellow kitten but none couldn't. Went to Señorial PetSmart in Señorial Mall and purchased a can for $2.00 with taxes included after being assisted by one employee. I geared up to protect myself because of my allergies, fed the kitten at 3pm and after an hour it was able to walk and went away after it's mom showed up from far with another grey one...
