I’ve been debating whether to leave this review for a few weeks, but the way I was treated has stayed with me, and I feel it’s important to share.
On January 5th, I visited this Buckle location to buy jeans using a gift card. For quite a while, neither I nor my cousin were acknowledged by any staff, even though we were actively shopping. Eventually, a short woman with dark hair and glasses approached me. I told her I wear a size 10 or 12, which should translate to a 30 or 31 in their sizing. She brought me a pair of size 34 jeans, which were clearly too big. I asked for a smaller size, specifically three sizes down, but she insisted on only bringing me a 33. My cousin noticed the issue and grabbed a pair of size 30 jeans, which were still too big. Ultimately, I found that a 29 fit me, and I bought them since I had a gift card, though I would have left otherwise.
As I was walking to the register, I noticed a pair of Wranglers I liked and decided to try them on. From across the store, the same associate practically yelled, “Make sure you size up a few times! They don’t have stretch like the others!”
I should’ve walked out earlier due to her treatment of me. Yes, I was wearing an oversized sweatshirt that could have made me look bigger than I am, but that shouldn’t have affected how I was treated. When I told her I thought I needed a 30 or 31, I expected her to listen, not repeatedly offer sizes far too large for me. After losing weight over the past year, being made to feel like I was lying about my size, especially with the loud, unnecessary comment across the store, was incredibly disheartening and dehumanizing.
I hope this feedback helps improve customer service...
Read moreWent in yesterday 5 minutes before closing after checking out American Eagle, Levi's, and Tommy Hilfiger for jeans for a new job (I'm used to wearing ripped jeans and at my new job I needed jeans with no rips) after already being extremely stressed at these other stores and trying on a million pairs and nothing fit the way I liked. I walked into this Buckle 5 minutes before closing and asked for long non ripped mid rise jeans and the employee immediately came to my service and opened up a fitting room for me and they all fit perfectly, she knew exactly what I wanted by what I told her and picked out thr perfect jeans for me, her service was unbelievable, she made sure with me everything fit the way I wanted and I even picked out a belt that she added an extra hole to for me. She was even insisting my mom to try on a pair she liked and mind you it's already 10 minutes past closing at this point and she is still making sure we have our needs met before we walk out. I will never shop with those other places again, this was my first time at Buckle and definitely not my last. The sigh of relief i felt after her helping me find exactly what I've been looking for was insane. And I definitely could've came up a bit rude when I first walked in because I was stressed after trying on a total of about 25 pairs in all different stores and leaving with nothing, I was not in a good mood but she was still extremely helpful and understanding. We ended up out of there about 20 minutes after closing, and she was not complaining about it one bit. Give that girl a raise!! Can't wait to continue shopping with them when I'm...
