I gave birth to both of my kids here. One during COVID and all staff wore masks and followed CDC guidelines. The hospital is clean and provides everything that is needed for postpartum care and baby. The provide diapers and formula as well. You will have to bring your own toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, soap, and shampoo. The delivery room is a great size with a decent bed and can comfortably sleep a guest on the sofa. The room after delivery is much smaller but still nice. My first born stayed in the NICU for a week and the nurses were amazing. During both stays I’ve had multiple nurses. Some care deeply and are great while others barely want to help. I will say the food here is amazing. You get 3 meals each night with a lot of options. Overall I def recommend this hospital.

We used this hospital for delivering our first kid. Overall it’s a mixed review across spectrum: Some staff were exceptional, some were average and some needs improvements. Logistic: Medical supplies were up to date, and seems sturdy and well maintained. Patient’s amenities however needs improvements. Shower head is useless, water spilling everywhere and drain not draining the water properly. Hospital provided most items we requested however (pacifier, etc) Score: 4/5 Staff: out of the 6 nurses that attended us during our stay at the hospital 2 were exceptional ( Shot out to Daniel and Brooke), 2 were good, 1 average, 1 need improvement. Pediatricians were knowledgeable.

Stay away!!!!!! My bill was sent to collectors 2 weeks after got it by mail!!!! I can’t believe I gave 5 stars to this hospital several years ago. I don’t even know where to start. I was so impressed by kind nurses and doctors who worked at Hackensack that I decided to give birth to my first child there. While I can’t blame doctors and nurses for completely different experience because of COVID precautions and tragic atsmospre in general during this time. My husband was taken 2 time to their emergency room while I gave birth to our baby, because he had kidney stones. They sent him home both times with painkiller. First day I got home with new baby, one of my husband kidney stopped working. Fortunately we got urgent appointment with urologist that immediately sent my husband to have surgery. He could die, but doctors at Hackensack said my husband will be fine until he got doctors approval. Everybody there was terrified by COVID. They pretended like no other diseases are exist, only COVID-19. Because of that I carried my husband on my shoulder and 3 days old baby right after C section (we have no family around). Luckily the story ended up well. But their billing department is another story. We paid all bills right away. Several month from birth I received additional 200$ bill, I paid. 2 weeks later I receive a refund. 1 month latter I got the same 200$ bill, I paid again. In one month I receive a full refund again.... so 1 year after I again received 200$ bill... sounds like a joke... I called several times and was able to reach the billing department only after 10 days of receiving bill. They explained that it was miscommunication with insurance, but to make sure that I really owed anything they asked me to call to my insurance to clarify and put my bill on hold, as they said. We were leaving next day for a vacation to celebrate first birthday, so I decided not to even bother and I just paid the bill since it was just 200$, basically the same bill third time. When I returned 6 days latter, I found a letter from collectors in my mail box. I PAID BILL 3 TIMES and they sent it to collectors just 2 weeks after I receive it. I was unable to reach Hackensack financial department since then. I know that collectors figured out that everything was paid and they removed 200$ deb. Never in my life I was late with any payment! I can’t even believe what they did!! I would be happy to complain or at least to listen to the explanation of what happened but Hackensack financial department phone is...

I don’t usually do reviews, and I am only giving 5 starts because of these 2 nurses. This Labor and delivery nurse deserves a 100% STARS! Only Overall experience was ok. All of the nurses are very helpful and nice but there’s really one that stands out. Her name is HEATHER. (Hopes she sees this) Nurse Heather was like my 4th nurse since I started labor and helped me deliver my baby. SHE WAS THE BEST. AND YOU CAN REALLY TELL SHE LOVES WHAT SHES DOING. The way she took care of me. My family and I very thankful for her. With all the position she made do. Encouraging me. Turning me. THE BEST. I know its her job but she’s really helpful and nice. Very compassionate. Very approachable. I was so happy that before she finished her shift I gave birth, I really wanted her to be there. I didn’t want her to leave. Hahaha! Thank you Nurse Heather.

In Mother-Baby department, everyone is ok, and nice. But the one that really helped me was Nurse FRANCY. SHE IS THE BEST TOO!! Helped me alot with breastfeeding, positioning, holding my baby and alot of education. Learned so much from her. Checks on me often not like the other nurses.

Overall, hospital experience was ok. I’ll give a 3.5 stars. Hospital room are very clean. The hospital tech was nice. Food is ok but you gotta order it. The only thing we had a problem is our last day. We were supposed to be discharged on the 3rd day but we want our son to be circumcised (which they know from the very beginning) and they took the whole for them to do the surgery (they wanted until 4pm to do it, which we didn’t get home until 7pm. All day we were just waiting) Before the surgery a bunch of doctors came in back and forth to check on me and baby. Nurses said waiting for the pediatrician orders. Just annoying we had to spend the whole day waiting...

I first went to Hackensack on 12-22-23 to be induced. In the labor and delivery unit I was welcomed by wonderful staff such as Christine and Liz. Both of them were amazing and put me in a great mood. They go above and beyond for their patients. After giving birth on 12-23-23 I was taken to the mother/ baby unit. I asked my PCT if she would be able to help me use the bathroom. I was nervous because I tore twice and had to be cut. I expressed to her that I was nervous to which she asked me if I was drunk or high when I got my tattoos. When we got into the bathroom she told me this is why I should have kept my legs closed and I would not be in this situation. She proceeded to tell me that she does not have kids because she kept her legs closed. Once more while we walked out of the bathroom she told me I should have kept my legs closed. Shortly after I got a different PCT. I think the way this PCT was absolutely inappropriate and very shocking. My son was already in the NICU and for one of the staff members to say that I should have kept my legs closed is absolutely inappropriate and no other mother should have to hear that not only hours after they gave birth but in general. She had a disgusting personality and should not be taking care of mothers. I had a wonderful stay with very caring staff afterwards and...
