Living Spirits Distillery and Cocktail Bar — Local services in Hackettstown

Been keeping my eye on this place since they put up the sign outside. Finally got a chance to visit and was not disappointed.

I don't think my experience would had been as good as it was were it not for the bartender Jason. Thank you sir for a great evening.

So here's my little break down. There are 2 parking lots if you are looking to be close to the entrance then the first one will be the lot you want and the main entrance is all the way at the back of that first lot clearly painted on the wall with Main Entrance.

As soon as you walk in the smell of yeast and living spirits (rightfully named) linger in the air. You slowly make your way down a hallway windows into where they make the spirits to a tinted glass door buzzing with energy behind it.

Now I didn't heed any of the advice in previous posts yes it's small but not uncomfortably so. It lends to the warm environment and even though we didn't have reservations and it was pretty bumping inside they did their best to accommodate us and find us some room at the bar.

Enter Jason who was moving non stop building drinks for the tables guiding servers picking up slack where he could and still always interacting with the clients at the bar. Offering information about the business, his own background in bartending. It was never just to check if you needed a round he wanted to know about the drinks making suggestions and even talking about the history of some of the classics.

The drinks were good. Smooth, well balanced, and enjoyable floating towards dangerously drinkable.

The other customers added to the atmosphere pleasant and warm everyone conversing and enjoying the environment.

Looking forward to watch this place evolve. And will definitely be back. Great little spot for a quick night cap in a warm relaxed atmosphere even when the employees were running non stop that never bled into our experience.

Cozy, Creative, and Worth the Visit

Visited Living Spirits Distillery and Cocktail Bar on a crisp fall Saturday night with three friends, and we had an amazing time. Even though it was clearly a busy evening, the staff was quick, attentive, and friendly — we were seated outside within minutes. Thanks Joe!!

The outdoor setup was fantastic — heaters, tables, lawn games, and a campfire that added a really cozy, social vibe. It felt like the perfect spot to relax and hang out with friends. My favorite drink of the night was the hot cocoa tequila cocktail, which hit the spot on a chilly evening — warm, smooth, and deliciously unique.

We also got a tour of the distillery, led by one of the owners, which was a really fun surprise. you can schedule tours online soon! They walked us through how their liquors are made from scratch, and we even got to sample some! You can really tell how much pride they put into their craft.

The indoor seating options are great — couches, love seats, private dining rooms, and the outdoor bonfire area all make it feel versatile and inviting. They even sell s’mores kits so you can roast marshmallows by the fire — a perfect touch.

Overall, Living Spirits feels like a fun, welcoming place to drink, hang out, and experience something different. They only opened recently, so there may be a few small kinks being worked out, but everything we experienced was fantastic. Highly recommend checking...

My friends and I got the chance to check out Living Spirit Distillery in Hackettstown after putting the kids to bed, and it was such a great experience. The bar service was outstanding—attentive without being overbearing, and really made us feel welcome from the start.

We took the tour and found it both fun and informative. You can tell how much care and knowledge goes into what they’re creating here. The space itself is beautiful—modern, warm, and perfect for a relaxed night out.

The vibe was just right: lively but not overwhelming. We were also impressed with the merchandise selection—extra touches that made it easy to take a little piece of the distillery home. Prices were very reasonable across the board, from drinks to souvenirs, which made the whole evening feel like a great value.
