Firstly, I adore Ollie's. Honestly I can spend the better part of a Saturday or Sunday afternoon just moseying around the store looking for a steal.
I unfortunately dislike the lay out, and in general the over all design of the Hagerstown, MD Ollie's. I know it used to be a different store long ago, but it always seems so dimly lit inside, at times making it difficult to really look at items, because I feel I need to take them to a better lit location to see true colors and read fine print.
It is very nice and different that they have appliances there, some times I really think about getting a new fridge from there. I feel like they also have a much larger food/ grocery section than say the Chambersburg PA location.
The health and beauty section is really lacking and to me, very disorganized every time I come in. I think it needs to be put somewhere else and just set up differently. Today, when I went in, there was a MESS in the picture frame and home decor aisle. It looked like at any moment someone was going to trip over the pile up happening. It's also unfortunate that most aisles you can only go up/down single file so it makes it hard to look at the majority of items unless you want to wait for other people to move along.
I'm not really sure why customers make such a mess of the towels and curtain sections but they are some times not really bad and other times it's like a tornado has came through, which makes it tougher on the staff to clean up.
All in all, I like this location - I just wish that it was laid out differently and maybe had better lighting systems to make it seem more inviting. I usually find a great deal on things and don't leave...
Read moreOllie's reminds me of a Grocery Outlet where there are more home goods than food and no awesome wine selection but the concept is the same. They procure buyouts on volume items that are being discontinued for resale and give back the savings!
If you have the patience to shop as you may have to turn a few stones over here, you can find some really great deals. With the internet at our fingertips it's easy to research goods and find out just how much you're saving. Example, I just found a Crosley turntable with speakers tucked in the back of the store, not advertised for $69 that sells for $124 on Amazon, score!
Sometimes the buyouts are limited and you have to get there quick when the shipments get in or they just sell surprisingly quick! But if you're looking for toys for the kids, bathroom goods, bedding, carpets, books, office supplies, paint or even K-cups for your Keurig then go check out Ollie's Bargain...
Read moreOllie's is, for the lack of a better word, is AWESOME!!! I couldn't believe how inexpensive everything in the store was. I bought a three pack of Timberland merino wool socks for $3.99. That was a total steal! I also purchased a three pack of men's white undershirts for $7.99, again, a total bargain. I also bought a three pack of men's polyester/spandex boxer briefs for $7.99, and anywhere else, those underwear would cost three times as much.
Ollie's has so much to peruse through that you really have to take your time to see everything because Ollie's has good deals on every piece of merchandise they sell. However, I do think you should exercise a bit of caution at Ollie's because though they may have the best prices around, you may find yourself spending more than you may anticipate because you'll buy things because they're such a good deal. All-in-all, I absolutely...
