Town Fair Tire — Local services in Hamden

What an amazing experience I had at the Hamden Town Fair Tire compared to other Town Fair Tires that I've been to in the past, and in general I've had nothing but good experiences at other Town Fair Tires, but this was on a total different level.

I dealt with Ryan D. behind the desk. He walked me through the selection of low end to high end tires and took his time to help me choose the right tires for my vehicle AND he didn't try to over sell me. He explained everything wrong with the tire that needed to be replaced and what will happen if I continued driving on it. So instead of just replacing the problem tire, I bought 2 so both front tires are brand new.

After we picked out the tire, he told me that they were busy so it would likely take 90min, maybe a little longer, but it only took an hour and 10min. The crew in the back really busted their tails that day.

Ryan had both great customer service and sales skills, and it wasn't just with me. He was multi-tasking and he was treating every customer that I saw him interact with the same way he treated me. He was excellent. I live in Derby, only 1/4 mile from a Town Fair Tire (and they are good there), but going forward, unless it's an emergency, I'll go 15min out of my way to go to the Hamden one just for the way Ryan and the rest of the crew there treated me. I sincerely felt like they WANTED TO help me rather than HAVE TO deal with just another customer that they can sell tires to as fast as possible. I would've given 6 stars if...

This Town Fair has been nothing but good to me. I’ve now had two good experiences in as many years - the first time, they were the only shop that carried the tires I needed, and today, Dave went above and beyond to help me when I came in thinking I needed one tire and wound up needing four. He was also just extremely friendly and relatable and kind in his interactions with me.

I’d had one tire (put on last year) with a road-damage sidewall tear that I knew needed a replacement, and Dave noticed that my two older tires were also showing early rips or bulges along the side wall - I’d noticed this, myself, and had been wondering whether they were in rough enough shape to need replacement. Dave helped me find comparable tires with a better warranty than what I had, and he matched the price to the tires I’d been considering. He also offered me the standard wheel alignment deal, but gave me an honest assessment of my tires’ wear and told me he didn’t see anything uneven or worrisome there. I really appreciated that he didn’t push on that, especially since I was already spending more than I’d bargained for.

Overall, I had a very good experience here, and as long as this store keeps it up, I’ll happily keep coming here for...

I walked in to be serviced on 08/05/2023. Ryan D. assisted me with my services. Ryan came in from outside and realized no one was at the desk however there were 2 people in line waiting and he greeted me upon arrival, asked me what brought me in, asked me how can he help, asked me if I had a budget, guided me from start to finish, educated me in the process by pulling tires and comparing them, explained the differences in a very professional manner. He even made a personal connection by sharing that the tires he was recommending are the tires that are on his moms car. As a mom of three children and someone that travels out of state 3-5 days out of the week I was sold. Ryan took his time was very polite and not once over promised but instead really tried to work with me. Ryan reviewed the receipt and highlighted important pieces that I would need in the future for instance warranty and tire mileage. The service time was very reasonable considering that I walked in and want to be mindful of that. Upon finishing reached out to me to let me know. There was thorough communication throughout.
