I stopped shopping at stop and shop for a reason I usually shop at aldis but sense it was so busy I decided to go here.Keep in mind it was not busy at all some workers were wearing masks some were not.A lot of workers were just in groups doing nothing talking to each other. I was trying to figure out how to get to the cash register I had to walk all around the store still couldnât figure it out tried saying out loud I did not know how to get to the cash register,â no acknowledgement of meâ. I gave up and just went through where you go out and the lady who was doing absolutely nothing, wasnât even wearing a mask and gave me an attitude says,â OK but you still have to walk all the way aroundâ. So I get upset because I donât know what she is talking about where Iâm suppose to go Iâm Just trying to pay for groceries I canât even afford while not working. She was refusing to take me even though she clearly saw I was frazzled and ready to cry she was gonna make me walk all the way around again.I understand if you had customers it was busy but it wasnât also if she cared so much about protocol call she would be wearing a mask.Instead she was giving me an attitude about it.That to me is horrible customer service I almost just left my groceries there for them to put away again. I am so upset about this new trend of workers in grocery stores giving attitude and they think itâs okay and they could get away with it because everything thatâs going on.    Read moreMy reply to the S&S management's response to my review: All that what you say is positive, except half the people ignore the arrows - there's no one at the doors accounting for the occupancy (there were more than 125 people inside) - half the people ignored the arrows - people crowded in the aisles - I saw no sanitation wiping anywhere. This store is an example of a careless Stop & Shop - and that is on the manager.
None of the store personnel were taking any notice of the poor behavior rampant throughout the store. A PA announcement could have helped, but none was made in the time I was there.
I was considering taking video to send to the Hamden Health Department. Instead, I will not return to this store.

I have shopped in Stop & Shop stores, from the southernCT shore up into Boston, and my observation is that too many of the customers at this location ignore the social distancing signage throughout the store. This is a dangerous location to shop in, relative to other stores in the area. Management ignores that customers are behaving poorly and most customers refuse to follow the cautions required under the Governor's Executive Orders.
DO NOT SHOP HERE IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE UNTIL MANAGEMENT TAKES CONTROL. They are violating the capacity cautions, too.

I called ahead to see if they had any lobster available. 10 min later I was at the store. They had about 10 or so. I prefer female lobster. The guy did not know the difference but I do. I told him that I would show him. He replied that he had no time for that. That he had other stuff to do with an attitude. What else can he do if is not helping customers, you figured at 15.99 per pound 3 lobster is about $80 plus what ever else i was getting I told him to keep his lobsters that I rather spend my hard earned money were is welcomed. I also told him that if that was his department perhaps he should educate him self on what he is selling. Another employee passing by witnesses the incident and tried to make things better, he even got me the store manager whom looked like he was quit him self. He could care less about the incident and I bet that not even a conversation will.take place with the employee.
