I have been in touch with Fox Toyota Dealership for past 3 years as I had been looking to buy a tundra for a long time. I was very close to buy a new 2020 model and I remember working with Joey Graves a couple of years back who really gave me a good offer but I decided to wait on the newer model. I was extremely impressed how Joey went above and beyond to take care of us.
Just last year, the 2022 Tundra Hybrid was announced and i was pretty keen to get this model. I contacted a dealership in my area in Traverse City and they didn't seem to have a process defined to put customers on waiting list. I then contacted Fox Toyota of Cadillac yet again and I was working with a gentleman name Chad Schwall who put me on a waiting list for the new Hybrid model whenever it gets allocated.
I was very impressed - as when the new Tundra's started coming in March timeframe, Chad contacted me and see if I was interested in any other models. Again - Chad made sure that I was informed on the allocations. My wife and I are planning a trip across country and needed a truck soon so I decided to go with the 2022 Tundra Limited. Not the truck i wanted, but it was a good compromise until I get my Hybrid allocated. While I was in Florida still, I thought initially the process that Fox was following from putting in a deposit and once the car arrives - to purchase it within 48 hours was not really friendly for a customer. That was my first impression about Chad but things really switched when I met him in person to pick up my limited and understood the logistics behind the whole toyota allocations. Again until you meet a person face to face you can't really build that customer relationship. Sometimes you have to put yourself in their shoes and think about things.
Chad and Joey made sure that I still had my limited even though there was a little delay with my coming back to Michigan. I did have some minor issues with the truck and Chad made sure he worked with Toyota to get them addressed. To my surprise, I was allocated my 2022 Tundra Hybrid and I just picked it up a couple of days back. Very streamlined process - much better than the first time as we built the relationship and communicated throughout.
Again - Chad went above and beyond with his great interpersonal skills to keep me informed and this time I wasn't missing on this opportunity. I am very pleased and impressed with Fox dealership as they are really honest during these times when there are almost $20K MA over the MSRP that the dealerships are asking to make profit and cheat consumer. I will never give business to a dealership like that and be smart about it. To anyone in northern Michigan, I highly recommend this dealership. In future, I am planning to trade in my older vehicles for one of the other Toyota's and I know who to go to now!
MANY THANKS Chad, Joey and to Fox Toyota for working with me and wish you all loads of success. I will still keep bugging you guys for some accessories and just because I couldn't negotiate on the Truck, that doesn't mean I can't negotiate on future parts and accessories for Tundra...
Read moreI want to be very clear. The staff I interacted with were professional and easy to communicate with. The process of dropping my car off, seeing the repairs needed and picking up the car was great. I have no issues with any particular staff member.
That being said. I would never recommend anyone send a car here for repair ever. I have a 2007 Toyota RAV that has occasional problems with its pistons and spark plugs. My regular mechanic was booked out for a month. I knew that my issue was a minor one. So I decided to take it here because I knew it shouldn’t need any major work done. They quoted me 5,100 dollars to do an engine rebuild. Citing oil in the cylinders and a whole mess of problems.
I politely told them I couldn’t afford that and happily paid the diagnostic fee. Waited the month to take it to my regular mechanic where after 96 dollars of repairs it’s good as new. All it needed was a new spark plug and an engine coil. My mechanic said there was no oil in the cylinders and had no idea what the other mechanics were talking about. I had brought the printout report from Toyota so they could see themselves. Absolutely egregious that they quoted me an astronomical sum of money for work that didn’t need to be done. Makes me wonder if a proper look at the engine was even done. I will never buy a car here, send a car here and will continue to tell people to...
Read moreI don't have enough room to tell the dissatisfaction of buying a used car through this dealership. I'm not sure service knows how to appropriately inspect a vehicle, let alone address mechanical issues. Between the newly installed brake pads being bad (3 trips back and they couldn't figure out the squeaking but my mechanic did in one visit), the detailer not checking/cleaning in compartments (lead to me finding dead, petrified mice in the vehicle less than 2 hours from me driving off the lot and then attempting to get me/my insurance to cover the additional damage costs) replacing a radio unit with one that was visibly damaged, the lack of communication during any of this process and flat out being ignored when I had an appointment set up with sales to discuss the issues. Fox, you couldn't have failed in a more fabulous fashion. It has been 4 months since the purchase of my car and I can honestly say that the brakes are finally fixed! There is no way it should have EVER taken this long.
Update Thank you, Ron, for taking the time to meet with me, unannounced, today. I appreciate you taking the time to listen to the concerns and the steps taken to make it right. While I am not pleased about road that was taken, I'm happy that we were able to connect today and come to a better ending. You are definitely worth the...
