We tried for the first time awhile back and it was good but the fries in the Tijuana fries (just cheese and what I thought was shredded pork) were extremely undercooked and dry. We loved the flavor though and I liked my burrito which had beef & black bean mixture and rice, wrapped in foil. Went back this afternoon and where they had been preparing the food at the counter was blocked off so I had trouble ordering as before I was able to see and she asked what I would like on each item. So today I ordered the burrito alacarte as I didn't care for the rice and such and just wanted a burrito. The burrito was a quarter the size of the first one, served in a pan of sauce. I clarified a couple times that I wasn't ordering a "bean burrito" I wanted the beef & black bean mixture. He seemed confused. I ordered the Tijuana fries with carnitas and cheese sauce. The fries are under cooked even worse than before, not edible at all. There's some cheese sauce in the bottom. The carnitas definitely isn't what they put on it before, who knows what it was because nothing else looked familiar via wording on the menu and it was covered with lettuce and tomatoes which we would not eat. I ordered my daughter a tamale and it was horrible although we've never had them before but it was like soaked cake. Not at all what I was expecting. And it was served with what looked like chicken inside on a bed of beef. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement, it's all being thrown out. Wish I had ate there I stead of getting it to go, I would've sent it all back. I had already ordered it once and knew what we wanted so I thought we were good to order to go. Sadly I don't think we...
Read moreIts all changed from my last review. Its basically a miniature version of Hureadureas. Theres a bar, its table service now and the menu looks to be similar to the aforementioned restaurant. They also have alcohol now. Food was good. Birria tacos were gvery good. Fajitas funditas were ok. Most was burned to the bottom of the plate. Literally scorhing hot, took awhile to let it cool down to be ediable. I know its going to be sizzling etc etc, but burned to the plate and crusty is a little much. 2 12 oz beers, Horchata, bowl of queso, chips and salsa was just under 100 bucks. Little pricey in my book. Service was on point.
They are in the same shopping center as Gordons, right next to them in the strip mall. No hours posted. So can't really tell you hours. Only been open a couple of days so working out the kinks hopefully. Walk in, use the door on the right inside the vestibule. Head up to the counter and place your order. It is seat yourself. Has a definite "Mexico" atmosphere/decor with a strong pop up restaurant vibe. Once your order comes out they build it for you Subway style. $51 for a burrito, quesadilla and 3 street tacos,(only received 2), horchata and a glass bottle of coke. For us it was extremely over priced. The food was mediocre at best. Chorizo on the tacos, I waited for so it was fresh...Definitely not fresh. Chips used are store bought variety, overall said and done at this price point there are better Mexican style food choices in Cadillac....like a few...
Read moreEditing my review! Herradurras has merged with cantina bamba and ruined it. Not everyone liked them and we finally had a restaurant that we loved. I'm super sad! I liked the way we could walk up and order what we wanted, how we wanted it and now it's sit down and read a hurradurras menu. I'll never be back 😞
Love this restaurant!!! We lived in Arizona for several years and enjoyed the authentic Mexican food there. Since moving back home to Michigan, it's tough to find good, authentic food but La Bamba had nailed it! Super good food, large portions, and served quickly! Their prices are on par with any other sit down restaurant. We will definitely be regulars!! I had the nachos with birria and shared with my husband since its so large, ooooooh man is the meat sooooo tender...
