Blue Ridge Dog — Local services in Harrisonburg

Stopped by today with my son after our visit to the children’s museum. I couldn’t be more excited for my our next visit! Amy was absolutely fantastic! I could tell she is a true animal lover through & through, just like us! I do at least 90% of my shopping at small businesses as I try to not support the big corporate greed machines, but this small business is truly what it’s all about! Amy was so warm & welcoming as well as knowledgeable & helpful. The type of customer service & laid back atmosphere that truly made me switch to shopping only small businesses years ago. Even made a impression on my 7 year old, who upon returning to the car, expressed that we need to go back ASAP & that “Amy was really nice”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him comment about anyone we just met before today. I believe it made him feel seen as unfortunately, not all people include the child in the conversation & mostly focus on the adult who will be paying. It was so refreshing to see that shops like this with people like Amy still exist. *Anyone reading * make sure to stop by if you are a dog lover! I know you will be so happy that you did!

Lived in Harrisonburg for 4 years and love supporting local businesses however this one is not one to support. I write this after just returning from the store wanting to pick up a few products that my girlfriend and I ordered a month ago for our dog. The man working there told me that a girl had picked up the jacket we had ordered for our dog (which she did not or he would be wearing it right now). He was clearly high and tried to give me other coats that were the wrong size while telling me that my girlfriend had already picked up the jacket. Total incompetence on the entire place. Love the idea but...

Blue Ridge dog is wonderful! We searched for months to find a particular toy that our dog likes and finally found it online at Blue Ridge Dog. The owner was very accommodating and shipped the toys to us as we are located out of state. The box was hand addressed to our dog and included some complementary dog treats.
