My husband and I went to Hugo Kohl’s as a last ditch effort. My rings fell into the garbage disposal on Christmas Day and were as a result they were very beaten up. We had already taken them to the jewelry store they were originally purchased the rings from. Sadly we were told they were a lost cause and I should trade them in and purchase new ones. That didn’t really sit well with me. I was emotionally attached to the ring that was give to me on the day I got engaged as well as the one I received my wedding day. When we entered Hugo Kohl’s we didn’t really have high expectations since we knew pretty much my rings were a loss. Hugo came and looked at them and offered to separate the two rings as he thought the wedding band may possibly be salvageable since none of the diamonds were missing. A few weeks later I got a call saying my wedding band looked stunning and was ready for me to pick it up! We were elated! It looked amazing! Since the engagement ring was unfixable we started talking about options for another custom ring to replace it. Both Kate and Hugo were so much help in the creative process and made it very easy and smooth. In the end I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect! We were able to create a beautiful replacement and my kids even got to have an input with stone colors. I couldn’t be happier with the end result! They were even able to take the gold from my original engagement ring and melt it down to recreate the band for the new ring. I am amazed and so...
Read moreWhat a pleasant visit we had. We are visiting the area from Ontario, Canada, and noticed an ad for the 'Jewelry Museum' on the local television. We only went to visit the museum, with no intent to buy anything. The lady (who we later learned was Kate) greeted us warmly, and told us to go on in to the museum area. Everything is well signed, and we had few questions. As we were leaving, we asked a gentleman (who turned out to be Hugo) a few questions, and he pleasantly obliged. (with the help of a smiling assistant from the stroller) Then we went back into the store, and Kate explained how Hugo happened onto all the old dies, and how they worked. She offered to clean my wife's rings, and while she was cleaning them, I said to my wife, "She is such a sweet, warm lady that I feel we should buy something!" So, when she came back, my wife asked about a few 'cigar band' rings, and we purchased one. We are treating the ring as a 50th Anniversary ring.....our 50th is next June. Had it not been for Hugo's interaction with us, and Kate's genuine warmth and knowledge, we would have just been 'lookers.' We definitely will stop in should we be in the area again!!!...
Read moreI have been putting off having my diamond stud earrings remounted for the last four years because I lacked confidence in any jeweler. Hugo Kohl came highly recommended, so I thought I would try him. From the moment I walked in the store, I was well-treated. Hugo sat down with me, examined my earrings, and offered me several mounting options. He apologized for the cost because the price of gold had gone up dramatically, but told me he would weigh my original gold mountings and give me a credit for them. That was a first. When I asked how long the remounting would take, he told me two or three days. Every other jeweler told me around two weeks. True to his word, I picked up my earrings two days later. To find an honest jeweler that does not pressure me to buy something I do not need or want and delivers on a timely basis is priceless and worth every cent I paid. I plan on using him for all my...
