I just came back from trying to sell for the very last time. I have been to this store a few times over the last few years I have lived here, and every time I go in I go with with very nice brands that are in great shape. I actually look at what I am taking in, and I think would someone want to buy this or should it just go to Good Will. I have made maybe $25 Today I took in items that were practically brand new. Very nice items. 2 items even had a tag on it! Thirty One bags and Premier Designs jewelry. I was told that everything was being passed on today because they were just older styles, stripes don't sell well(really), and we don't take undergarments. It was a brand new, never worn before bra with the tag on it. I understand if store policy is that you don't buy undergarments, but it wasn't like I was trying to sell underwear or thongs. Plus, you have a whole rack of sports bras. That is an under garment! You also have bikini tops, which is pretty much the same thing. The other brand new tagged item was a pink lace skirt from the Loft. Brand new price was $70, it was bought at a discount of $30, but it was still tagged and never worn. I walked around the store as I was waiting for my bin to be finished, and I see stuff that is old and ugly. Items I am honestly shocked that the store would buy. I just saw the review left by the customer who was rejected because her sizes were too big. That's just offensive and stupid. Your store could benefit from having some bigger sizes. Plus size girls want nice discounted clothes too. I understand stores need policies, but they should make sense, be clear and understandable to all customers. I know the girl who gave me my bin evaluation was just doing her job, but I had to walk out quickly because I was afraid I was going to take my anger out on her. She didn't...
Read moredisclaimer first time customer here to sell clothing. I dropped off 9 items (admonished for coming without my own bag or container for the items, silly me) and was a bit surprised only 3 were purchased but I understood and was given the script response at pickup about them being âextremely selectiveâ - again, not an issue for me. I did feel the items were worth about 2x what I received but know thatâs the business model and what keeps them going like any other pawn/consignment operation. What I found most distasteful was the attitude and rudeness of the employees on 5/22/23. When I first arrived I was the only customer to wait on and they flippantly gave me a form to fill out then quickly got back to their personal conversations shouted across the store and I sat for a few moments with my completed form to the extent that one employee had to tell the other closest to me to âpay attentionâ and finally attend to me. When I came back to collect my items/cash it was notably busier and the same employee whoâd delayed attending to me earlier stated to the other âI donât understand why people donât have anything better to doâ as if customers in the store and doing their job was the worst thing imaginable (maybe work somewhere else?) The other employee attended to me this time and gave me the well scripted lines about why items were returned to me and the value they offered with no option of accepting or refusing the offer and then, once again, flippantly dismissed me on my way with little more than a âsee yaâ after handing me the cash. Customer service training would go a long way here. Next time Iâll feel much better about donating items to a thrift shop with a good mission rather than...
Read morePlatoâs closet is a really great place for cheap clothes. Itâs very cute in there and well organized. Shopping wise I would say yes you should go in there. But NEVER try to sell your clothes. This morning me and my mom went to Platoâs closet with a big bag of clothes. There were different varieties and most of the things were âtrendyâ and cute. Now I wasnât expecting all of the clothes to get picked. I just had gone through all my clothes to see what they would take (whatever they didnât take I would just give to good will). We got there at about 2:40. They didnât really tell us anything so I was like okay just give us a call when you are ready. Iâm not even joking it took five hours yet there was still no call . So we went back in and it seemed like they were just NOW looking at the bag. So I ask the lady how long it would take. She goes thirty minutes. Mind you this bag is big. Iâm like okay and so we wait. I come back in to see five pieces of clothing on the counter. She tells me THEN that they are really stocked up and there was âwear/ tearâ. THAT was the reason they didnât pick more. If there was holes and tears I wouldnât have even tried to give them away. The communication was lack luster and these things should have been told to me as soon as I asked to sell them. They also didnât tell me that there were people ahead of me. It was a waste of time and I had to drive forty minutes to get there. I made only 16.78 and my mood completely diminished. Donât sell your...
