Because of an awareness of trying to buy local, as this business admonishes people to do (Which I realized would cost me more, but I was willing to do), I have gotten all my appliances at this store for over 20 years. I never had a problem before. This time, my washing machine needed to be replaced. It took two weeks for a delivery date. I didn’t want to wait that long, but I said I would, so that was my fault. However, When they were supposed to deliver it, it ended up that they didn’t show up three times. They did call me the first two times and said that it wasn’t put on the truck, (as other people on this review site said they said to them.) I have no idea how that would happen twice just a few days apart so I offered to go pick it up with my truck but they said no. So I waited to the third date and I was given a window of time from noon till 6 PM. I sat here until 6 PM and they never showed up so at that point I was pretty upset and I called and left a message which basically said I was going to get my money back the first thing the next day and I was going to give them bad reviews. I figured maybe that would motivate them to either give me my money back or give me my washing machine, which by the way, ended up costing me about $1000. So at 6:40 I get a phone call From the delivery guys that they’re on their way with my washing machine. They did come and hook it up. Even though I was exasperated, I gave both of the guys a nice tip, because I figured mistakes happen. The next day, I get a call from the office and to make a long story short, I was scolded by the girl on the phone for “threatening“ them. Keep in mind that they were the ones who created this mess, not us, and that I never raised my voice, called them names, swore at them, or threatened any physical violence or any such foolish thing. As mentioned previously, I just said I wanted my money back and I’d give them bad reviews which, at that point, I’m sure anybody who had been stood up three times would have done. I got absolutely no apology from them for inconveniencing us. I had to switch my work schedule three days because of this. I do have to say that a few times I did talk to some knowledgeable, polite employees who did try to accommodate us and did things in a professional manner. But this part of the transaction was very unprofessional. On the third day when they showed up so late, of course I assumed they weren’t coming because they already stood me up twice before that. If they had only called me earlier to let me know that they were running late and that they were still coming, I would’ve tolerated it and I would not have called to complain. A little communication would’ve been very much appreciated! All in all, it was a very upsetting and unsatisfactory experience. Thankfully, I have my nice new washing...
Read moreI purchased a Bosch Dishwasher from Terry's last March. It stopped working. I called Terry's on Wednesday, September 10th and got voice mail. Their voice mail specifically says do not leave repeated messages or call the Sales Department and above all please be kind to their employees. I would think that maybe there is a reason why people would not be kind. It is a two way street!!!!
I did receive a call back from April, she is a bit condescending. She requested my Model Number and Serial Number so I went home from work and got the information she needed and gave it to her. She said she would get back to me.
I did receive a call on Friday from a nice gentleman and told him what was going on with the machine and error code. He said he would study up about it over the weekend and someone would get back to me on Monday. No one called back until Wednesday September 17th.
In the meantime I had reached out to Bosch who was going to get someone to service this machine. They could not find anyone. They contacted Terry's and I finally got a call back from April as stated on Wednesday. She asked if I still wanted my dishwasher repaired. She said she heard from Bosch that I had reached out to them so she wanted me to call them and notify them not to book another service and then call her back. I asked her to give me an appointment first as I was afraid I would get voicemail and again have to wait for a return call. She asked for a credit card and I asked why as the machine is covered fully under warranty. I forget what reason she gave but I did give her one.
So I scheduled for this Wednesday the 24th. I mentioned that I worked down the street from my home and could I get a 10 minutes heads up. She said they could give me a 4 hour window but could not call as they could be two minutes away from our home or an hour away ."Two minutes" seriously? Every company I have worked with has always tried to help with this request. April just made me feel like she just did not want to do it.
I called several appliance repairs on my own. They do not work on Bosch but all of them called me right back and were very nice to talk to. I did find an appliance repair in Sandwich that will work on Bosch and booked them for this Wednesday. No credit card needed and will gladly give me a 10 minutes head up. I will pay and try to be reimbursed from Bosch. If it breaks down again it will be dumped.
I cancelled Terry's. I will never deal with Terry's again and I will never buy Bosch again. I have spent too much time and energy trying to get a dishwasher fixed that should never have broken down in the first place. I should not feel like I am an aggravation when I call the company I purchased it from in the...
Read moreIn August I was without refrigeration due to my old refrigerator suddenly shutting down. I thought I would do the right thing and buy from Terrys, a smaller local business, as compared to a big box store. I picked out a refrigerator and scheduled a day for delivery. In order for Terrys to deliver your appliance you have to be home, so I took time off work for the scheduled delivery day. The day before Terrys was supposed to come I call the business and ask what their ETA is. It was only then that they informed me the refrigerator I ordered was actually MONTHS away from getting here. I was a little upset that I had to call them and get this information, as opposed to them calling to tell me. I had a feeling that I would have taken the day off of work and only come to find out my refrigerator was delayed once they did not show up. Despite my frustration, I boiled this down to a simple mishap and I ordered a different refrigerator to avoid the wait. Terrys changed the delivery date and time for this refrigerator about 3 or 4 times as well. Every time they would push the delivery date out I had to speak with my boss and ask for a different day off to have the appliance delivered. This was incredibly frustrating for me, and embarrassing to have to test my boss's patience.
When the refrigerator was finally delivered the Terrys team made a giant scratch that spanned across both of the refrigerators doors, on the front side. The team admitted to their mistake and said that they would be to my house soon to replace both doors. When I asked them how soon, they said they would come within 2 weeks. Five months have passed and I have still yet to have the doors replaced despite checking in with Terrys very regularly. The last time I spoke with a Terrys team member they flat-out told me that they have "no idea" when they are going to be able to get replacement doors. They could not even give me a general estimate of when it will be fixed. I asked Terrys for money to compensate the damage that they created and that idea was not entertained in the slightest. They told me if I wanted money to seek insurance through Whirlpool. I think after 5 months Terrys has had ample time to fix the damage that THEY created, or to offer me a slight refund. Telling a customer that you have "no idea" when the damage will be fixed after five whole months to figure it out is unacceptable. I am now stuck with a damaged item I paid full price for.... the likelyhood that it will never get fixed increases with every month that goes by. This business has not showed me an ounce of...
