I was threatened with physical violence by a store employee on 3/22/25. It was an employee wearing a black mask that was covering the bottom half of his face. I was at the shipping counter, and I was asking to do a drop off and get a receipt. I asked for assistance, this person being the closest employee. When I asked, he replied in a angry tone " did you not read the sign??" - I replied "what sign?" - And then he points at one behind me, a small sign, about 12x12, that I hadn't noticed - something about shipping hours. I then asked him if he was "all right," and the employee got EXTREMELY upset, and began to pursue me, coming forward like he wanted to get into a physical altercation. I started to back away and then he started to threaten me verbally - then with threats of physical violence. He pursued me to the door, and then started reaching his left hand behind his back like he was about to pull a weapon, I'm not sure if it was a box cutter or something else, but it was at this point when the adrenaline was rushing through my body and I said "I am not looking for a fight here" - He then kept walking forward towards me, with an angry and threatening stance, pushing me further outside of the store. At this point I actually felt physically threatened for my own safety, and I fled the store with my FedEx box still in hand. I went into the Petco next door for safety, because I thought I was being pursued further outside of the store.
Update: The store manager & another employee told me that they will take appropriate action. I left my phone number with them. The manager was a nice guy and offered to do my FedEx return and give me the receipt I needed. I am still shaking from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTodays lesson is: Itās not about the best price all the time. Sometimes, it needs to be about the people. Was in town today and needed to pickup some office items. #officemaxkona was the obvious choice, so I thought hahaha 𤣠Upon arrival I managed to do all the necessary texting, downloading of apps and registering for #officemax account. After all of the above was completed, the 25% off coupon for eligible items wasnāt easily identified within the app. I enquired with the checkout guy, he had no knowledge so he radioed the manager a few times āyou will get an email with the coupon, you will get a text with the coupon and/or the coupon is in the app...ā Manager didnāt know either. I called the manager and about at the same time we discovered the coupon that I was enquiring about... It pleases me to see some people still have jobs despite what it going on globally these days; however, it appears that the #officemaxkona team could brush-up on their basic product knowledge, available technology at work, interpersonal skills and current incentives... Before finalizing the purchase, I decided to take my business and money elsewhere. #dontbejustawarmbody...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVictor Aranas. Victor Aranas is the reason I will be an office depot customer for life.
Victor's professionalism, customer service and passion for care is unmatched and rare to find in customer facing position. His display of customer service, while being short staffed during COVID, gave me hope that there are still good people in the world.
I needed some items printed, but the print center did not have the people or resources to help me. It was a last minute requirement and poor planning on my part. Victor assisted me with my requirement while supporting 5 other customers at the same time, all with the same patience and compassion. He could have easily told customers that they're out of luck, and to just come back later, but he didn't. I watched as he assisted people that just needed a ticket printed to an old lady that didn't know how to photocopy a document.
He deserves a tremendous recognition and a raise. The ROI he has just generated with me has resulted in ensuring that all my future printing needs will be pushed through Office Depot.
Thank you, Victor, for your kindness, professionalism and assistance. I look forward to working...
