I’m sharing my experience because I feel it’s important to address how I was treated recently. During an interaction with Mallory, I was on the phone and tried to explain this to her multiple times. I asked if we could pause the conversation for a moment so I could speak with her respectfully, but she dismissed it, saying it “doesn’t matter” that I was on the phone. She then brought up the policy and mentioned that I had been spoken to about it before, but the truth is, the only person who has spoken to me about it was her, twice.
What really frustrated me was seeing other members wearing much more inappropriate attire—such as cutoffs, sandals, see-through shorts, and extremely short shorts—without any intervention. When I asked Mallory if I could speak with someone above her due to her unprofessional behavior, she responded by saying, "No, I’m revoking your membership." I was then asked to leave, which I did immediately through the side door to avoid any further conflict.
This wasn’t my first negative interaction with Mallory. The first time was when she came up to me during one of her classes and told me to "go put a shirt on" in a tone I found very unprofessional. I was respectful and responded politely, but her tone and manner were inappropriate. I have always treated your staff with kindness, and I’ve had meaningful conversations with them. It’s disappointing to be treated this way when I’ve always tried to remain respectful.
Mallory, with respect, all of your responses have been falsely stated. I never once was rude to your staff. I value all of them. I was very polite until you kept being hostile. That’s when I stood my ground and asked to go above you. Nothing about that is rude behavior. My review doesn’t reflect that because it wasn’t the case. It feels like you’re trying to convince yourself that I was rude in your response, but the only one who was rude here was you, Mallory. Your responses to members here speak volumes, so there's no need for me to elaborate further. The outfit shown in the photos below is what I was wearing. If you're going to lie about that, who knows what else you might be dishonest about. also having people write you good reviews to mask what is really going on is against Google policy.
I truly hope you never speak to other members the way you spoke to me. No one should have to deal with that at a gym, nor should anyone be falsely accused of how the situation truly unfolded. I want this to be a positive experience for all members and to shed light on poor management so that Cap City can be the best it possibly can be.
I have changed my response because I’m not going to reach your level of rudeness. It’s not how I handle situations. I will handle this accordingly so it’s get corrected.
Mallory: if anything it does speak volumes in a very positive way. I wanted to shed light to what was going on.Thank you for acknowledging that. I would be happy to post the screenshots from what I posted before nothing that I said was any different. Also asking others to post a review is against Google policy like I stated. I simply have expressed what has happened. Many of those are upset. Which I am allowed to do because first amendment. I’m friends with half of your staff. only person I’ve talk to has been you. You have to get dress-coded 5 times to be kicked out is what I was told. But apparently it’s twice by a manger that has had it out for you in the beginning. You scouted me out a member of your gym contacted me and watched the whole thing. No one said anything. again like you said there are cameras that can easily show that. In which I’m...
Read moreMy partner and I came in for a 7-day trial over a month ago. We never filled anything out, the front desk just let us in and shrugged when we asked about membership. It felt weird to enter without any documentation, but I figured they were busy and maybe that's just how it was.
After utilizing the basketball court for an hour, I opted to go ask more about the facility. The front desk couldn't tell me anything about the difference between a couple membership and a family membership. I asked for details and the young kid manning the front desk just shrugged and said, "I don't know but if you join, you'll figure it out." He told me to wander around if I wanted to see everything. I was taken aback but it was a weekend so I assumed weekday staff might be better equipped to help me. I asked what the membership hours were and was told, "I don't know." Later I found out Saturdays it's 11am-4pm which is weird because that's when I was there asking questions and there was no one there that knew anything about membership. I tried the following Saturday with the same results - shrugs and "I don't know" as the answer for everything.
We've been back several times and no one at the front desk can tell us what each membership entails. Also - side note - I have had to stand at the front desk staring at staff for an UNCOMFORTABLY long time before anyone even acknowledges me between their personal conversations and they also seem super annoyed I'm interrupting. I have never once signed in even though I've been let through to work out. (Is this not a safety issue for current members??) Finally, today, after over a month, I received a business card for Alex and emailed him that I would like to start a membership and have been having a hard time due to the membership hours and my own availability. He emailed me the membership hours which I had already advised him didn't work for my schedule. No offer to schedule an outside appointment, no offer to accommodate over the phone. Nothing.
My partner was over CCHC a week ago when we couldn't get signed up and I begged him to keep trying because I like the pool and courts but as the highest priced gym in town, I definitely had higher expectations of their customer service. (Also, in 2025, how have they NOT developed an online membership application?? Everything is online these days! Why do you make it so hard? lol)
After reading the reviews over the last several months, I see that this is not a one-off occurrence, and I suppose I dodged a bullet. Maybe it's time management steps in, trains on customer service, and cross-trains on membership so that when the designated membership staff isn't available, at least someone is around to answer questions.
Genuinely disappointed. For years I thought CCHC was the Cadillac of gyms in town and when I can finally afford it, it's the...
Read moreI've been a member for a little over a month...and so far, I really like it. The staff has been very friendly and helpful...although I was a pretty disappointed with my "free" training session that came with my membership sign-up...it was basically just another tour of the facility and an opportunity to pitch their personal trainers for an additional fee. I guess I was hoping they would weigh and measure me and give me a starter routine, so I knew what I should be doing in order to reach my goals...hence the reason I joined. Then I wouldn't mind paying for some follow-up training to make sure I'm staying on the right track. Oh well. I attend numerous classes throughout the week and use the circuit and machines frequently. Zumba kicked my butt and I didn't think Yoga would make me sweat so much! I was really concerned that it would be too crowded, as the parking lot is always FULL...but the machines are always available and the place never seems to be that busy. Not sure where all the people are hiding... Reading some of the other reviews...I'm not sure if CCHC has made some improvements...but I have yet to find a dirty machine...and I'm pretty sure if I did, they would be willing to wipe it off for me. Also, the contract seemed standard...like any other contract you would find at a gym, You're locked in for a year and then month-to-month there after...UNLESS...you make changes to your membership, then the 12 mo commitment starts over. For example, I started with a family plan consisting of 5 people...but I thought my sister might want to join as well...the CCHC Rep suggested that I add her sooner rather than later, to avoid extending my 12mo commitment. I felt he was very upfront about the contract details. If you have concerns, just ask the CCHC Rep to explain. I would...
