We are full-time RVers who, while traveling around the US, are in search of the best cheeseburger and have a rating system. We found this quaint diner in an online magazine article on iconic diners around the US. We went over reviews prior to eating lunch. I went with their RB single 1/4 lb cheeseburger with American cheese, loaded with ketchup, mustard, mayo, shredded lettuce, finely chopped onions, pickles, and famous RB red relish on a nicely toasted bun. I added their highly touted tater tots. My wife had their fish & chips with thin cut fries and RB sauce. Old reviews stated halibut but they are now using cod. I was very pleased with my “old diner” style burger. The mayo blended nicely with the red relish along with the shredded lettuce and finely chopped onions had me rating this burger Very Good from the first bite. The tater tots were Good. Concerning the fish & chips, the batter and fish was good. Maybe when they used halibut it was a little more rememberable. Overall the experience, service and classic diner ambiance was...
Read moreTerrible customer service. Went there with my grandpa and my mom today and my grandpa JOKINGLY said “strike 1” and a lady came out immediately screaming at us about how “we don’t talk to her staff like that”. I told her that it was just a joke and that my grandpa wasn’t being serious and she continued to get angry at us. I told her I didn’t like her attitude and she was like “well then we don’t have to serve you” and walked back inside and slammed her door. My grandpa, my mom and I continued to talk amongst ourselves about what just happened and how that it wasn’t very nice. She comes back outside and tells us that we shouldn‘t expect to get served if we’re gonna have bad attitudes and I said “and you shouldn’t expect customers if you’re gonna have terrible customer service”. Yet again she walks back inside and slams her door on us. After that she kept glaring at us. If you want great customer service,...
Read moreMy Mom wanted to try this place out. So last week we stopped in to order some lunch. She ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with battered mushrooms & I got the cheese burger with onion rings. My Mom said the the battered mushrooms were very salty & didn't finish them, and only took 3 bites of her burger then threw it away. She said the beef was not great, & they need to use some seasoning because it was so bland. I agree about the beef. It was very bland, and the first bite I took I had the biggest piece of fat that got stuck between my teeth. I prefer very lean beef, for that reason. After having to dig it out for a few minutes, I tried to finish my burger since my Mom paid for lunch. I ate about 3/4 of it, & threw the rest away. My onion rings were very good though. It's really hard to read the menu there also. It's the smallest drive in menu, I have ever seen. Out lunch was $25, & most of it ended up...
