I lived here for about 4 years and left with very mixed feelings. The property itself isn't all bad--its in a nice location within a peaceful suburban area and I never felt unsafe there. My neighbors were always very nice and people mostly kept to themselves. The maintenance crew was very kind and cordial, and any maintenance requests were done promptly. However. Twice I had Mack pest control come in for routine spraying before I was ready. As a female living alone, its alarming to say the least, to have a troop of men start to open your door when you're clearly telling them to wait a minute. Not to mention that they had started knocking an hour earlier than the flier said they would. Yet my main issues were with the bad interior finishings and the amount of bugs:
-uncaulked edges all over the interior, especially in the kitchen and shower, were a highway for ants and other bugs. Mostly spiders, house centipedes, earwigs, and small slugs in the shower. Once I started tossing in salt after showering I finally stopped seeing the tiny slugs but its disgusting that they're there in the first place. Bigger slugs also come in through the AC wall unit that half hangs outside. Which brings me to the next point..
-The HVAC wall units are filthy (the fans were caked with a moldy sludge) and half hang out of the window with sizeable gaps. Forget spiders and house centipedes, slugs several inches long would come in to join the fun. On top of that, the temperature reader is in a strange spot, and many times when it was warm and comfortable inside, 'defrost' mode would activate and loudly turn the heat on whenever it wanted to. Including the middle of the night when you're trying to sleep. Also, the AC smelled putrid even after weeks of use. This is probably due to them never being maintained beyond checking the filters once a year. Look up PTAC units-they require more upkeep and cleaning than that.
-In addition to the HVAC units, the attics were definitely not included in whatever renovations they did years ago. I took one look up there when I moved in, closed it in horror and sealed up the lining with masking tape. When I removed the tape before moving out, it was filled with dozens of insects, including brown recluse spiders, that would have otherwise gotten in (let me remind you this attic is right above the toilet).
-For the amount you pay, residents should at least have access to a decent laundry room, but the one they have is very small (I'm talking not even room for a table small) and very dirty. There's no where to put something down and the machines were always caked with animal hair.
And lastly, don't expect to get your deposit back. I spent several hours cleaning the small 300 sq ft place (wiped everything down, swept, vacuumed, etc) and they took my entire deposit and then charged more for 'cleaning' and painting fees. I had even changed the drip pans myself. I've never heard of an apartment charging you to get the place ready for the next tenant, but this one apparently does. I'd like to add that I always kept my place clean and never left food out, which made all the bug issues that much more frustrating.
I know this all sounds horrible, but once I started taking care of the bug issues myself it was pretty a nice place to live, just not worth the amount...
Read moreCurrent resident. Small spaces. Not enough parking for residents. Staff and others regularly park in fire lanes and handicap spots. Stephanie seemed super informative at first but in reality can never actually answer any of my questions, and tells me to call back when Cynthia is in- which is rare. They were nice but never helpful. Maintenance man came to clean mold and do other repairs, and when they would come to my house they would ask me for my own paper towels and cleaning products. Instead of bringing their own or actually fixing the problem. Refuses to do anything about the mold even though the floors literally bend. Charged me a cleaning fee when I cleaned myself THOROUGHLY. (I find it hard to believe that they use MY THINGS to clean for requests- I doubt they actually did anything- they just want to take credit for what I did and keep the money) Laundry room is small and so, so dirty, including inside the very broken washing machines. Gross water that doesn't drain and pet hair (and one of them leaks. An ABHORRENT abound of air freshener and perfume on there to cover it all. They have tried to charge me pet fees for my service animal (with documentation while their online service is STILL reviewing it.) They have covered VERY serious mold problems in my apt with more layers of wood. Very poor maintenance (the staff is fine but the work is not). No lighting on the backs of the buildings where it's actually needed. Spot lights on the front to shine into your window. Stray cats and other animals (one skunk, a few opossums, two very fat raccoon so far) getting under the apts BECAUSE OF THE HOLES IN THE SIDE OF THE BUILDING. You can smell the urine. They're very nice until you have an actual legitimate issue and then they are so rude. Stephanie is nice but can't answer any of your questions and Cynthia is rarely there when you need. Do...

After years of not being able to get vehicles removed, I asked for it to be removed from my lease (I was told I was the only tenant with an issue). I agree with the other reviewer about the animals getting under the apartments and have even had them get into mine. I had to call animal control as all the complex did was board up the outside and lock the animal in. I don't notice any smells though. Same with the lights they are everywhere and shine brightly through multiple curtains. I also agree with the responsiveness of the team. Maintenance is on its game, but beyond that I often get ignored. If you 'become' a problem the help goes away.
UPDATE 02-25-22 I am still unable to have vehicles removed from my reserved spot despite multiple confirmations from management that I should be able to.
Parking is a major issue. You can pay for assigned parking, but it's a non enforceable sign. Have been paying for it for over 6 months and have never gotten a vehicle removed. Can't even get management to call for you. I have reached out over the last couple months and it seems to be a non issue. Rent is too high for what you get, no central heat or air, just a large unit in the main living area. The small gym has no privacy being made almost entirely of non frosted glass, but well lit. As I said. I have reached out many times, worst part is you have to beg for a response or leave reviews like this.
