The San Pedro office seemed unassuming from the outside. I wondered what to expect inside. I found the receptionist to be āquickā, I found the technician to be āquickā also; seemed not to hear me when I talked to her. She did her job well, just didnāt seem to have any inclination to hear what I had to say. Maybe she was pressed for time. Both of them seemed either not as personable as Iām used to⦠or maybe having lots of work and therefore unable to be as personable. On the positive side, everyone was efficient and seemed to do their job well. The most personable was actually the doctor himself, Dr Thomas. He was thorough and I was pleased with the fact that he answered my questions and commented on my concerns. I have worked with the public all my life, and sometimes there is so much going on and so much work to do, that there is just not enough time to be as personable as one might like to be. For this reason, Iāll give this visit a high rating anyway. They all seemed to try to do their best.
My second visit was with Dr Hernandez at the Stone Oak location⦠for an eyelid infection. I had purchased lid lifters for my eyelids & the adhesive irritated me terribly. He told me that I might be allergic to the adhesive. I told him that this lid condition ran it n my family, so I made an appointment to have that checked out with the surgeon who specialized in this area. I liked this office better because it was not so busy. The receptionists seemed very calm, knowledgeable, and pleasant.
My third Doctor was Dr Mauffray. This time, he was at the San Pedro office. The office was not so busy as my first visit. The receptionists were much more helpful than before. The doctor was very professional; he explained the testing procedure and possible options available for me.
Overall, Iām very pleased...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad to leave without being seen for an eye exam because I did not expect that it would take over an hour. I have had eye exams done in the past that took minutes, and I can't understand why it took so long. When I arrived, the staff was cold and distant as if they are too busy to talk to you. I was prompted to pay my co-pay and it was a few minutes before I was called back. They did a couple preliminary vision tests and then I was asked to wait in the waiting room. After an hour, I got up and noticed another customer waiting in the other room. I made a comment about how long I had been there and she replied that her appointment was about an hour before mine. This did not make me feel better. I was never updated about what was happening and that it would take this much time. I approached the staff at the back counter asking how much longer it would be until I would be seen. They informed me that there were two more customers in front of me (not including the one already in with the doctor) and they couldn't tell me how much longer it would be. It's just disappointing in this day and age for a company to not consider a customer's time. They're obviously over-booking appointments and it's clear what's most important to them. If you plan to book an appointment here, make sure you clear...
