This is because they lost a package that my dad was trying to send me and gave no help on finding it or reimbursement. He went to the store and was going to overnight the package, but that price was a little too high. My dad asked what was the next fastest option. The employee said next day. So my dad sent the package next day, or so he thought. The employee ended up somehow sending the package ground. But all of that is actually a irrelevant, because the package was lost in transit. When my Dad was trying to send me a check due to a financial emergency. So my dad has to put a stop payment check on the one thatās lost, which has an associated with the fee from his bank. Then my dad had to print another check and take it back to the UPS store. My dad asked the UPS store to absorb the cost to overnight it to me since they had lost the initial package. The employee told my dad that they would not be able to pay for the overnight since they are a franchise store. The employee stated their position was that since they are a franchise they in fact did not lose the package, but UPS did. So my dad paid the $59.61 to overnight the package to me. They offered him a $3.14 discount for his troubles, which is pretty much a slap in the face. But possibly the most frustrating part was that they didnāt even offer my dad information on how he could file a complaint and possibly be reimbursed for the shipping fees. They just told him that he had to take that up with UPS corporate. In my opinion that is the worst customer service. First of all, I have never felt so bad about wanting to ship a package - especially internationally. I donāt even know if the guy will even send it at all.
He let me know very clearly he does not like working with international, as he said āthis is why I donāt leave Texas. Nothing makes sense outside of here and they donāt even use real numbers or names for addressesā. He was beyond exasperated when he found out I was mailing to an apartment building.
He made sure I knew he had to make a call first, he made sure I knew this was an enormous hassle, he made sure I knew he didnāt like doing it and that he had to make multiple copies of invoices. All of it, dead in the eyes. Iām half expecting him to take my boxes outside and torch them rather than send them.
I tried to smile, to make some jokes and sympathize with his job but honestly he just scared me. He now knows my name and address too and when/if he sees this heāll know exactly who I am. Dude. You work at a post office. Things are going to get mailed out, sometimes overseas. Iām so so sorry you were the one that had to deal with my packages, oh my lord.

On both occasions I needed documents to be notarized and Maria, a Notary Public, provided those services for me. On both occasions she was professional as well as friendly, kind, and patient. She was also very efficient and clear in her communication, but she did it all while maintaining a light and friendly attitude that helped me and others to feel relaxed and well taken care of. The 2nd time I went in, the customer before me became abusive in reaction to something that was clearly not UPS' or Maria's fault - Maria was considerate and clear with him and without an ounce of anger or negativity. The few other customers and I chuckled quietly because it was so absurd - the gentleman's behavior - but clearly he was having a bad day; but Maria handled it expertly and always respectfully. The branch maintains a neighborhood, friendly vibe, and Brent, who is the manager I believe, must surely be responsible to some degree for that. He's low key, quiet, but he is on top of it all - seems to me - and whatever your needs there, he is going to respond to them in the most helpful way possible. They are doing it all just right, from my perspective, and I look forward to the next time I need their services....
