The 3 stars do not reflect the employees at this WB. They are 5 stars. From the cashier who took my order to the hostess who asked me twice if I needed anything. Even the customers were friendly, including a sweet woman who made my day by complimenting me for taking off my golf cap before eating my lunch.
The problem was the hamburger. I ordered the good old #1 with grilled onions and a toasted bun. The beef pattie was very dry, and when I lifted the bun to salt it, the pattie was almost split in two. There were chunks of lettuce that helped finish spliting the pattie. I looked forward to eating the Whataburger of so many years and got an imitation. But this isn't the only local Whataburger that serves dry, split hamburger patties. This surprises me because before the founding family sold WB to owners in Chicago, hamburgers were always dependable and imaginative. Maybe Whataburger should be re-named, "Chicagoburger," so that we native Texans should know what to expect.
Update: 6/19/2022. Whataimprovement! Since my last post, I've eaten at this location 3 or 4 times, ordering good ol' #1 again. The grill is working! The ground beef is in tact and like the original Whataburger.
Update: 2/10/23. Food well prepared. Hostess "Mary" is always great.
Update: 5/25/23. Pretty crowded at lunchtime because it's good. I brought $10 worth of quarters, which the nice cashier liked because change is needed all day, even though folks use debit cards more often.
Update: 10/27/23. More cudos for hostess "Mary," whom I consider the face of this Whataburger. I made a special order for a toasted bun and grilled onions, as shown on my receipt. I was hungry, and it wasn't until I finished half the burger I not only had no grilled onions, I had no onions at all. It wasn't a big deal, but Mary brought a generous helping of grilled onions in two minutes. Whataburger is lucky to employ her!
Update: 3/8/2024. My hamburger today had way too much mustard; the condiment covered up the taste...
Read moreReview #2 i have given this location so many ties its unbeleivale but I worked worked this location so I've given it 1000 tries since and for years it was great but about 5 years ago things started started change but for sure sure not ever ever here at night and and the drive through i waited more more 30 minutes tonight's for a #1 which.i payed nearly $10 for and the fried were so old they had had have have made 30 minutes before when I had initially ordered with 3 cars in front of me lol absolute horrendous customer service from both this store and corporate. Let me explain... I had been going to this location for about 20 years, i even worked at this location many years ago and i always gave it the highest recommendation and although they had messed up my order multiple times before it was always minor so i never called for a refund. Then a few weeks ago i took my friend there and to say the least they messed up the majority of our order and mind you half of mine wasn't even there so we called and they said they would replace the order if we bring the receipt. Now we didnt go back right away we waited about 5 days to go back. Then the manager miriam proceeded to tell us that they would only replace half the order even though i could pictures of the messed up order we had. Then after speaking with corporate i received an email a few days later basically saying sorry for your bad experience but there is nothing we are going to do and i don't have to choose that location if i don't want to. Now after all the money i have spent and on this location and they couldn't afford to replace one order of less than $15 i am very upset with how they treat their customers and i don't think they should be able to get...
Read moreThere cannot possibly be a worse drive through anywhere in San Antonio. I live on Brook Hollow, I go to this Whataburger all the time, unfortunately, and they constantly disappoint.
I can’t count how many times I’ve had three cars ahead of me, but it takes 25-30 minutes to get my order and leave. It’s worse at breakfast…no, no…it’s all the time, dinner, lunch breakfast, doesn’t matter.
Then, there’s the getting my orders wrong issue, about 60% of the time, I wind up going back to have them fix something despite the safeguards they have in place. It’s unreal!
Earlier this week, I ordered in the outside lane then I was asked to merge into inside lane with only three cars ahead of me. I sat in that lane for 25 minutes as cars ordered and left in the outside lane!
I asked why they did that and they did not know! I asked for the manager, she blamed having a bunch of high school kids working at that time, plus that particular Whataburger is a high volume restaurant. So I asked why put kids in that position and she shrugged her shoulders. Stupidity at its finest.
And it’s been the same for all ten years that I’ve lived on this street. But great news! Burger Boy just opened a new restaurant a few minutes away on Bitters Rd. and they have never messed up my order one time and they are fast even when they have long lines.
Whataburger you lost this customer permanently and I live on the same street as one of your restaurants.
Beware going to the Whataburger on Brook...
