Deeply Disappointed with Cat’s Cradle Rescue – Poor Communication and Unprofessional Conduct
I wish I could leave a positive review, but unfortunately, our experience with Cat’s Cradle Rescue in Hillsboro, OR was frustrating and deeply disappointing—especially for my daughter, who was led to believe she would be getting a kitten.
We met the organization at a public event at MudBay pet store, where we had thoughtful, transparent conversations with multiple women in charge. We clearly explained that we have dogs and emphasized that any future cat would have a completely separate, secure area of the home, fully inaccessible to the dogs. We have owned cats before. They gave us encouragement and made it seem like our application had a real chance. She even took off the paper with the kitten's info on the cage and wrote my name and phone number on.
The next day, we received a follow-up call. Again, we were honest and thorough about our household situation. Just two hours later, we were abruptly denied, not based on any in-person home check, but simply because of the presence of our small dogs. She was apologetic and said she hates making these types of phone calls. She asked me if I wanted to speak to the foster dad directly, and I said yes, hoping for a constructive conversation. What I received instead was a call from a man who was shockingly rude, dismissive, and unwilling to even listen. He interrupted repeatedly, shut down any discussion, and refused to consider our efforts to create a safe and loving environment for the cat.
This organization may have good intentions, but the way they handle potential adopters—especially families with children and other animals—is unacceptable. Their communication was inconsistent, their reasoning was rigid, and their representative's demeanor was condescending and unprofessional. I do not recommend Cat’s Cradle Rescue, and I sincerely hope they reevaluate how they interact with caring, responsible...
Read moreSupper unprofessional! I told the lady from the very beginning that I was inexperienced with cats as a momma cat had left her 4 babies at my home outside. A momma cat left them in my home didn't come back called local animal shelters did as I was told after not receiving help I reached out to cat cradle rescue. I noticed a slight tone the first time we talked but didn't pay much attention to it. She wanted tons of information and I understand that since they will be caring for the cats and for someone who had no knowledge of cats it was a bit hard but I sent in the information she requested. She called while I was driving. I answered with my kids in the car as I was telling her I needed help because I am currently pregnant and I had no idea how to care for the cats. She then said that my information I had sent in was incorrect and I should know more about "my cats" (not mine they were left). I did then procede to ask if the best option was to go out and put a free sign and see if anyone would like a cat. Not thinking much of it since I had seen people do that before where I live she said no, she just needed the correct information before she could see if they could take the kittens in . As I mentioned I have no idea or Knowledge about cats but I would never hurt them either. I did the best I could I proceeded to tell her I can not be around cat poop and thats when she yelled at me saying shut up! Shut up! Be quiet at the top of her lungs!! My kids were in complete shock. She then proceeded to tell me that she had multiple pregnancies with no complications to cat poop. As I continued to explain what my doctor had told me that's when she screamed. I felt complete shock I was in disbelief at what had just happened I told her I no longer wanted her help and hung up. To me it was very unprofessional for her to yell at me as I was just expressing my concerns due...
Read moreThey're called Cat's Cradle Rescue but they won't give you any resources to help rescue a stray cat in the neighborhood that's always crying because it's probably hurt and hungry They literally wouldn't even give me the number of the person they just said they were going to give me the number for to take rhem to a shelter. And then said because I've shown the cat some food and try to make it feel safe so they could come get it or provide a resource, It Would be My Responsibility to take the baby to the Vet which I cannot afford. They're not doing anything to help. I'm not sure what they do, they're literally Make me feel worse for this cat. Then sent me Smart-a** text messages about how they're sure that I Am Fully Capable of essentially...
