I really love Daiso, I lived in Seattle for 3 months and it got us through a very difficult and expensive time for a loved one going through a medical issue. Saved our butts on so many household items, and way better quality than dollar tree. So, I was absolutely thrilled to hear we were getting one in the Portland metro area at last! However, it was a little disappointing. Compared to the stores in Seattle, and even the one I visited in Austin, it is very small and has a more limited selection. However the layout and everything was well organized like all the other Daisos I have been too, and they did have some of the things I was looking for. I am hoping that this location ends up being a success and we see a few more pop up in our area, as this location is pretty far out for most in the metro area, and I haven't been back since our first visit (terribly long bus ride). Perhaps as time goes on their stock will get to be a little better. To all my fellow Daiso fans who haven't visited yet, just lower your expectations a bit and you'll still find stuff, and have a...
Read moreJust back from Japan and the stores are way bigger in Japan. In Japan the stores can be multi-level spread out in a large building.
Daiso is a version of our dollar stores, but the founders goal was to provide quality products with many varieties at a good price for every family.
I have a blast looking at the variety of items available. They don't have 1 of a kind, they have 6 or 7 kinds to choose from. And I hate shopping I tell my friends I'm a buyer. I go knowing what I want, I grab it, I'm gone. Not at Daiso.
You need to visit just to experience some typical Japanese marketing. I highly recommend this Daiso by TV Highway.
The staff is so friendly, if you get to meet Stephanie say hi! She's so friendly...
Read moreBe aware!!!! This place does not accept refunds or exchanges. Last time I bought 5 items but they were too small. I went to the store to refund the items, they said they don't do exchanges or refunds. There was a âno return or exchangesâ at the bottom of the receipt however, it is in a very small font. There were no signs at the cashier that let you know about this policy either. If such policy were to exist, it shouldâve been easily acknowledged by customers. Also I used the Daiso in Korea, but if I didn't use the item, I could get a refund at any time with a receipt. Please think seriously before purchasing the item before...
