The Red Robin chain in general has gone downhill fast in the last couple of years. The effort to modernize and make it more of an industrial-chic presentation of food and restaurant has gotten the restaurant away from what it was good at - hamburgers and fries.
Today's experience was probably the last straw. We went in and were sat down pretty quickly. You ever sit at a table and feel like the waitresses dont know who's responsible for the table? That was tonight. It took 10 minutes to get just drinks. Okay they were what I would define as mildly busy, but in general the waitress seemed to just be going through the motions. Got our waters pretty quickly.
Another 15 minutes had gone buy and the waitress had still not come to take our food order. She finally walks over and we place our order. About 5 minutes later the table next to us places their order.
20 minutes later the food came out for the table next to us. Then about 5 minutes later our food came out. The person who must have been a manager who dropped off our food asked if we needed something. I asked for BBQ sauce. After about 5 minutes with the way things had gone I figured it was not coming so just ate. Sure enough by the time I finished no BBQ sauce.
Wife's salad was warm, my burger was only warm, and fries were on the cold side.
We got one final "do you want any more fries" and I didnt want to wait any longer so I said no. Within 3 minutes we were brought our check.
Heres the best part - we didnt even have to pay with the waitress. If you havent been there in a while the stands with the screens where you can order your appetizers, desserts, etc, well that was more of a waitress today than the actual waitress. She brought water, someone else brought food, and alas, a very poor experience.
For not even being the best burger in town (see: Helvetia Tavern, Cruise-in country diner) you are losing out on the only thing you have going for you, and thats an experience and customer service. Will likely...

As a courtesy, they sent me a $25.00 Red Robin Gift Card that I could redeem, with the hopes for a better dining experience. I redeemed that gift card tonight when my husband and I revisited Red Robin for dinner. As is my custom, I ordered a Whiskey River Bbq Cheeseburger with extra pickles. I also ordered garlic fries, with extra garlic/parmesean sauce. My burger was prepared correctly and I am happy to report that I received six pickles on my burger, which is a huge improvement over the one or two I usually get. My garlic fries were delicious, but sadly did not have the "extra" as requested. I'm not sure its a deal-breaker. I'll likely give Red Robin another opportunity- maybe two- to further prove they can prepare and provide their entrées to meet their customers special requests. By the way, our server Elizabeth was beyond fantastic- very attentive, and courteous. Hopefully next time will prove to be fruitful as it concerns extra pickles AND extra garlic/parmesean sauce. We will see.
How hard is it to accomodate a patron's request for extra pickles? Every single time... I order the same burger, prepared the same way, with the same side of garlic fries. And every single time, the kitchen leaves off the extra pickles and skimps on the garlic/parmesean. I can't speak for other locations because its just this one I visit. I can't blame the server because theres always someone different, so its gotta be the kitchen, or management or corporate policy. Whatever it is, it stinks and I hate that y'all skimp on simple things that make customers happy. Red Robin of Hillsboro, I'm sorry but I'm finished with you-- officially finding a new...
Read moreFirst off, I want to say, we have been going to this Red Robin for years, always has been our favorite, until recently. We always eat in the bar area, order a few drinks and our burgers. A few months ago, we were in and the service was very lacking, the food was good, but took a while to come out and our server just didn't give us good service. Never asked how our food was, if we wanted more fries, another drink, etc. My husband spoke with the manager and she apologized and gave us a gift card to use. We decided to use it on April 9. We sat in the bar, everything started off great, he delivered our drinks, took our order right away and seemed to be attentive. We asked if we could get our fries early, he said yes. It all went down hill from there. Never brought our fries out early, never asked if we would like another drink. Another couple that came in at the same time (different server), ordered their food/drinks at the same time we did. By the time our food came out, they were done and leaving....this is how long it took. While we were waiting for our food, our server was busy making drinks, washing bar glasses and cleaning the bar, everything except paying attention to his customers. When our burgers did finally come out, the burgers and the fries were cold. He brought out the fries we ordered first, after our burgers came out, they were cold, also. Never asked how our food was, did we need anything else, nothing, just delivered our bill and left. We will not be back to this Red Robin again, we will now start going to the one on Evergreen. We did speak to a manager about it, but she didn't really seem to care. Very sad, this Red Robin seems to be going down in quality and service fast and it doesn't appear the...
