We ordered carpet on October 5th. We ordered carpet that said installation can be done in 7 days from the order date. Well this is November 16th and we still haven't received our carpet installation. The original installation was scheduled for 10/14 and so we cleared the room in anticipation of their arrival and was not told that the carpet was back ordered and that the carpet would not be installed that day. Well almost a month after ordering the carpet, the carpet finally arrived and was going to be installed but when the installers arrived, it was the wrong carpet. We went back up to Home Depot to see what was going on. They re-ordered new carpet. It has been three weeks since that happened. The new carpet was supposed to arrive two days ago on the 14th. We never received a call saying that the carpet was back ordered again. We had to call them this morning to see what is going on. And now they are estimating that the arrival of the carpet to be the 28th. We filed a claim with Home Depot last week and the District Manager called us to hear us out and said that he would look into the situation and haven't received any updates from him again. We can't order different carpet because earlier this year we had Home Depot install carpet in the rest of the condo. We are just trying to get this last room done and to match the rest of the condo. Our office has been cleared out since 10/14 leaving our stuff all over the rest of the condo. We can't work because the office is torn apart waiting on carpet. Home Depot refuses to give any kind of reimbursement. On top of this, we ordered four kitchen appliances on June 13th from Home Depot and still haven't received those either. They keep getting back ordered further and further. Our delivery date has been changed three times. We filed a claim for that too and the District Manager said he was going to call LG and we haven't any follow up to that either. From this point forward, we will only deal with contractors and companies that do all aspects of a project in house and don't deal with third parties like Home Depot. The lack of communication and rudeness from Romanoff has not helped the situation. We are still waiting on carpet and appliances. Two of the four appliances in our kitchen have stopped working since ordering new appliances. We ordered new ones in anticipation of it and wanted them replaced before breaking and that didn't happen. Never again will I hire Home Depot for any renovations.
Update: today is 12/2/2020. Romanoff just called to cancel our 12/5 installation because of scheduling conflicts and don't know when they can reschedule. So 8 weeks later we still don't have our 7 day carpet installed and don't know when it will be installed. Why couldn't they cancel someone else's installation that hasn't been waiting as long as we have? I am reaching out to a lawyer to see what kind of legal action we can take on the matter against Home Depot and Romanoff. Do not hire either company for your installation needs.
Update: today is 12/10/2020. Our 7 day installation carpet was FINALLY installed yesterday after waiting over two months. Our appliances were supposed to be delivered today. Yesterday, we were given a delivery and installation window of between 10:30-2:30. So we set our alarm clocks to be up at 8 to give us time to empty the fridge and freezer. When I went to take my dog out I noticed a Home Depot sign on the door saying they were here at 7:30. I am fuming. So we called Home Depot to get them back out here since it's not our fault they showed up before their delivery window. The lady tells me that time is in Eastern Standard Time. We CALLED the store and actually talked to a person yesterday and we were TOLD 10:30-2:30. She says, yeah, it's something we are trying to get fixed in our system. And now they can't get back out today. They can't get back until Saturday. We have been waiting for six months for these to be delivered and they dropped the ball. After the appliances get put in, we are never doing any deliveries or installations through Home...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal Home Depot customer for years. No matter what state, Louisiana, Alabama or Oregon, I’ve had nothing but good experiences. However, the last two times that I’ve gone it has been out of control. My two kids and I have just moved houses and we’ve been shopping for appliances to make it feel more like a home. While shopping for a washing machine and dryer, we were repeatedly ignored and left standing without any help. It had gotten to a point where we could not handle it anymore and decided to go next door to Lowe’s, where we were promptly helped. This encounter, of course, left a bad taste in my mouth but I truly enjoy giving Home Depot my business, so we decided to return today to buy a new grill for our patio. This encounter was infinitely worse considering the circumstances. We arrived at about 4:30 and we were able to pick out the grill we wanted in under 30 minutes. Hower, we did not leave the store UNTIL 7:10 PM. I informed an employee that I would like to purchase the grill along with accessories and that I would like one in a box so that it would fit into my car. We had to ask several different associates to help us several different times (at least five people) and we spent at least an hour waiting for the first. By the time the first employee came back, I had already picked out a cover and tools for the grill that I was so eager to take home. He told me it would be 10 minutes to go get the grill down. 1hr and a half later, I had asked my daughter to go find a different employee to hopefully help us. It was a nice older gentleman with a plaid face mask who tried his best to get things situated and who also seemed to be the only one who truly cared about our service. By the time my daughter came back with the man, everything was already “ taken care of”. This turned out to not be the case. A male customer service representative had told me to wait outside near the loading zone and someone would bring we the grill. By this time, we were already very frustrated, but this was just the nail in the coffin. I went outside to pick up some propane and put my kids in the car, as they were exhausted by now. We waited for ANOTHER 30 MINUTES before i finally got sick of the horrid customer service. I walked back in to tell another employee at the counter, this time it was a blonde woman with glasses somewhere between 19- 25. I informed her of our struggles and that I had been waiting for well over the estimated time for my product. She proceeded to tell me “ She’s on the way” ( referring to an employee who went to get the grill this time) and that I should wait outside with an extremely foul attitude. I decided that it wasn’t worth buying the accessories if I could get the grill. There and then, I made the decision to return everything and get my money back. We waited well over 3 hours for nothing. Like I said in the beginning, Home Depot has been my go-to home and appliance store for years but this is just unacceptable and downright disrespectful. Lowe’s will be receiving my business from no on,...
Read moreI spent over $600 during my shopping experience there. I purchased a drill that unbeknownst to me did not come with a battery. I discovered later that the battery was sold separately. After further research I found that I could buy a drill through another resource a much cheaper cost. I attempted to return the drill to Home Depot along with other items. The total came to around $82. Home Depot's return policy holes for purchase to have been made within 180 days identification, credit or debit card has a purchase was made with, and the receipt. I Mac all of the requirements According to the return policy. First V return clerk wanted to tell me that they had a 90-day return policy and that I was not within that time frame. looking at the receipt my purchase was December 27th I was Home Depot on February 11th it's the store had a 90-day return policy I was still Within the 90 days. However that was not the case for the policy I felt was a really poor at 10 honor my return. Long story short I was told that Home Depot use independent contracted company makes decisions processes return. They have some off-site company making arbitrary decisions on who may return items what items may be returned and what type of return you will be able to play whether you get your money back or you are given store credit or they completely deny your return. That was what happened in my case after spending over $600 in there store to replace tool that has been stolen from my car. I purchased the tools to replace. The clerk told me that their computer wasn't letting her return my items. and when that happens there is nothing that she can do.. I asked her what that meant and she said that I was not able to return my item. Meaning I was not going to get those items refunded to me Norway's I ain't going to be able to get stay in store credit. What makes this evening where is the fact that they were not allowing me to return those items. Meaning I cannot return them they were I was stuck with him There was nothing they could do about it. This was how I was treated after spending over $600 in there store Matt every requirement in their stated return policy. This is how they treat there customers. I have never in my life ever has this happened to me or experienced this kind of or complete lack thereof should I say I will never ever shop at Home Depot again. Ever I hope that all of you read this review before you shot at Home Depot. If by chance you have an item that you need to return they have some independent arbitrary company making decision as to whether or not you're able to receive a refund and in-store credit and or even able to...
