I've never actually been to this Circle K, but I couldn't find a way to write a review about the other Circle K in Hillsborough, so I'm going to write it here.
To be clear, this is a review of the Circle K at the intersection of St Mary's and 70 in Hillsborough, North Carolina.
I've been getting gas for 18+ years and was pleasantly surprised by the modern and extensive coffee bar that was available at this location. You have the choice of four different sizes, all of which are priced at under $2, which is a good deal compared to the Starbucks cold brew cans sold that are sold for $3.75 and are smaller than the "small" circle K brew. I'm embarrassed to say that I've been purchasing the cold brew cans this summer, simply because I was too lazy to make coffee at home and didn't realize that Circle K has awesome coffee.
The main operation of the coffee station is a large, digitized coffee dispenser. It produces iced coffee, regular coffee and decaf coffee. Once you select your choice on the touchscreen, you're able to choose the roast and the size of coffee that you want. The touchscreen gives you the option of selecting "fill it up," or "leave room for cream." It also has an option to stop the stream at any point in time, which is a necessary but nice gesture not seen at other gas stations.
As a person who is highly sensitive to caffeine, but loves the experience of drinking coffee, this set up serves my needs perfectly. I'm able to select decaf from the main menu, fill it up half way, and make the rest caffeinated. I can adjust this combination as needed, as per time of day or level of exhaustion etc.
I've also been enjoying adding some of the "Fall Harvest," beverage, which is seasonal and available on a smaller appliance to the right of the one I described above. The machine offers hot chocolate, Fall Harvest and a cappuccino, which feels out of place, but doesn't lower my overall opinion of the coffee station. It's nice to add a little sweet flavor to my coffee without being gouged for $4-7 for a special drink at a coffee shop.
The last addition is cream. The coffee bar offers cream from an automated dispenser (both 1/2 n 1/2 and french vanilla are available) as well as individual pods in more flavors from International Delights. I prefer to use the dispenser as I can put as much cream in as I want without wasting material.
The only issue I've experienced with the coffee bar is when the cream dispenser was clearly empty. I tried both the 1/2 and 1/2 nozzle and the french vanilla one and neither one worked. I decided to use the individual creams instead, but couldn't find 1/2 and 1/2 pods, just a bunch of the international delights flavors, which I usually like, but sometimes just can't stand. It put a damper on my morning, but thankfully it was...
Read moreSo I have been coming here since a teen. For years. I was in the store yesterday and there is this new employee lady, elderlyish, glasses, darkish blondish hair, short. Yesterday came in she was very slow at scanning the items obviously not caring about time or anything. My card and the machine worked fine yesterday and every past time I have been there. Come in tonight fine got my stuff waiting in line got to my turn at the register. She takes long time to scan some candy and beer. When I inserted my card the machine on my side kept freezing up and kept saying the message waiting on cashier. After a few times of this it finally worked while the second cashier came into work tall and new as well. I admit I put the pin wrong the first time bc I was trying to use debit instead of credit bc there were quite a few people behind me. She sets it again and has been talking to the other cashier this entire time about something that happened this morning with another employee. I am literally trying to figure out this card thing and she is ignoring me and everyone else completely behind me. I felt that I needed to say something. I asked her if she could help me with this card error situation and she said sarcastically I don't know your pin number. I said I know you don't but your standing there talking while there is a situation going on and I pointed to the people behind me and said others are waiting behind me. She replied I'm talking to my coworker. She started being rude at that point and I said to her your being very rude and not helpful. She then proceeds to act like shes sorry saying she isn't trying to. By this point the card machine worked and it approved the sale. I told her that is was approved and walked away. She proceeds to yell at me as I walk away in front of everyone who was still waiting. So I don't know why this lady is still working here. I definitely won't be coming back. I've given business here for years but you better bet on it me, my family, and everyone reading this most likely won't come back here. It's sad really because there are some really nice long term employees that work here. Guess Sheetz will have my business from now on. Atleast they are nice and welcoming. And also the reply

Read moreI notified the clerk that the nozzle on the Coke icee machine was coated with black mold which I wiped off with a napkin. Her response was to thank me for letting her know. She did nothing. I rechecked the machine and every flavor had a nozzle with some black mold on it, a small amount but it was visible. I told her the machine needed to be shutdown so people couldn’t use it. She said that a lot of people weren’t doing what they were supposed to be doing and that she couldn’t do anything. What is going on at this store? It continues to go down hill. This is not the store it was even a year ago. I looked for a management contact email and found no one to contact. I gave been going to this Circle K since it opened. They have supported our local schools in fundraising efforts. I am very disappointed in my trip...
