Not worth the price. COVID issues and general building rule violations will be brought up to management numerous times with no action taken by management. Whether it’s shuttle drivers not wearing masks, or residents refusing to wear masks in the gym; all of these typical issues receive no action from management. When they finally attempted to take control of the gym situation a few days ago (note this has been as issue since the beginning of COVID), they emailed us blindly accusing us of using the gym without booking time even though we were out of town and hadn't been home in over a week. The numerous major mechanical and plumbing issues the building has experienced in the past six months, which is obviously not caused by management, should still act as a warning to potential residents. On multiple occasions, there has been actual emergencies in the building, but yet only a couple of fire alarms have gone off (not ours, we see the other alarms from our windows), leaving us and countless other residents confused as to what is really going on and whether or not to evacuate since the in-unit fire alarms are not going off. Although this might seem superficial, having only four total elevators for a building this size is a total nightmare. Each day at least one elevator gets reserved by people moving in, maintenance, or the countless construction workers trying to repair the number of flooded units. This results in residents having to wait upwards of ten minutes to get an elevator car not packed with residents in the same boat. Luckily we haven’t had much snow this year, but when we did it took two full days after the snow stopped for snow removal directly outside the front doors to begin. Just from my own personal experience, I saw numerous agitated residents trying to carefully walk on six inch thick ice just on the other side of the front door. You can also always bet on garbage surrounding the perimeter of the building each and every day. I’m not one to complain, but I feel that all of these complaints are more then justified given the rent rates at this apartment.
It is beyond frustrating to constantly remind management that it is their job to look after this place, since good residents can only do so much. I moved into this apartment under the promise to expect nothing but the best. I anticipated recommending this apartment to numerous friends, but unfortunately I have had to do...
Read moreFirst three months, amazing, staff was wonderful, made friends with many within the community… Now, concierge Chris, is beyond rude, has no customer service skills, and has targeted my roommate and I personally on multiple occasions. Lifeguards changed and not only do they look and act 12 years old, they make a day at the pool with zero safety concerns accruing, miserable. The roof is not maintained, gas grills often being left on unattended or all night long. (MAJOR FIRE HAZARD) and the view from the pool would be nice if the glass fencing wasn’t covered in grime. When I try to enjoy a sunset, it usually ends up being trash clean up because I can’t stand it laying everywhere from other people or being possibly blown beyond our building. If you have a disability, visible or not, I highly advise against living here. Amenities are nice, but the staff acts like they are paying the astronomical rent themselves. As much as I hate the fact my roommate and I will be parting ways, I’m so excited for my lease to end!!! Not to mention, safety features of the building have been out of service my entire stay, air conditioning is out of service in multiple amenities and hallways, but they have “had the parts to fix them” for weeks.. I also have PTSD and got stuck in the elevator, when they conveniently couldn’t find the elevator tech and I had to be crowbarred out by first responders. Lastly, if you order a package, don’t expect it to be “scanned in” by concierge for a day or two!!
And I KNOW I’ll get a little response to this post wanting to “help me”. However they use their time finding useless tasks such as that instead of...
Read moreAnyone who writes a negative review on here likely either: 1) Has not experienced trying to live in "luxury buildings" in NYC or 2) Is biased or emotionally charged by inevitable frustrations from the necessary COVID precautions. I have been very impressed my experience living here. When I moved in, the concierge staff not only was willing to hold my furniture that shipped early, but proactively brought the heavy boxes up to my apartment. The management staff is also top-knotch. I sent a note to management to express concerns about someone who wouldn't wear a mask in the gym and it was immediately addressed. I haven't experienced delay issues in maintenance requests or other management check-ins, in fact, I had the two concerns that I registered that were checked out in my apartment the same-day. While the construction has been frustrating, it unfortunately is outside of building management's control and they have been providing weekly updates on exactly what floors will be worked on and personally I've been able to retreat to common working spaces. (Yes, plural, we have phone booths, a conference room set-up and a common "library" in the lobby.) Last, the building lobby always smells amazing, and staff go above and beyond to organize pop-ups, march madness brackets, and holiday celebrations. They gave out free packages with mini-champagne bottles and chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. I conclude the way I started -- be wary of reviews written with polarizing language, a few below read as entitled given how much this building does to go beyond typical...
