Café Vista, tucked away in the back streets of Hoboken, is a delightful little gem that actually reminds me of the charm of a Parisian café mixed with the warmth of grandma's kitchen. It sounds like an odd combo but it works! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, and I loved the fact my coffee and breakfast were served on old British porcelain!
The service was friendly, attentive, and given the small size of the place, quick. My avocado toast with feta was delicious, although I would have preferred the bread to be served warm. As for the cappuccino, it didn't quite hit the mark for me personally. It had a slightly bitter taste, but I guess that's just a matter of personal preference.
I am glad I came here (among other things to support local business), and even if some things did not hit the mark, I will come back, give it another try. It is indeed a very nice place to enjoy...
Read moreWhen I arrived I had to park illegally because parking in the area is terrible. The place had indoor and outdoor seating. The place was super cute and I loved the decor. I was greeted by Balseyat, I believe she was the owner or manager and she was so kind. I got the baklava, which I was eager to try because it was my first time, and was supposed to get coffee. I told her I wasn't a huge coffee drinker so she offered me mint tea which was so nice of her. While waiting customers came in and one of which had a dog. So this place is dog friendly. Balseyat gave me my items and I left.
While driving home I was trying to drink the tea but the lid kept leaking a lot. It was dripping all over. Nothing was wrong with the lid, I just think they probably need better lids or cups. When I got home I I ate the baklava and it was just ok. It was very sweet but glad I finally got a...
Read moreWorst coffee shop experience I've had in a long time. I ordered a large iced decaf americano that somehow came out to $7 after all of the hidden fees before taxes.
A large americano is $5.50 according to the published menu compared to $5 for a small, so I figured it was worth it to go for a large for $.50 more. The actual charge? $1.00 extra for a large (so $6 instead of $5.50), plus $.50 for ice and $.50 for decaf (why?!) bringing the total to a whopping $7. Nowhere on the published menu does it note that they charge extra for decaf or for ice. When I pointed out the incorrect charge for a large to the barists, he just shrugged and made no attempt to correct it or apologize.
To add insult to injury, the coffee was terrible and tasted like slightly flavored water. There are so many better options in Hoboken. Save your money and...
