I have to admit that I was a little skeptical the first time I visited AWNWA. The creepy dark alley and the small door with the dated sign on top are not very welcoming signs when you are considering leaving your child with a bunch of strangers. We got passed that and decided to give them a chance because we heard great feedback from other families that have their kids in their program. Also, my daughter already had some friends there so it helped to make our decision.
It is amazing how much she loves it now (she is on her second year there). I can only say great things about this place and the people that work there.:
For the parents: Very flexible schedules and competitive prices. Hands on and caring staff. My daughter comes back everyday with a new braided design that she loves and I get jealous since I am completely useless when it comes to hair. They have different events all year round to make your kids experience even more fun. The owner, Mr. Bernard take any chance he gets to play and spend time with the kids. Let´s be honest. If it was my business and I was making good money with it the last thing I would want to do is get on the floor and have kids crawl all over me. It´s just not me on top of the fact that he has paid staff to do that. My daughter can not leave the place without giving him a big hug. The concierge service will pick up your kid from school and take them to the center. If you have decided to enrol them in another activity (say dance or similar) they will take them for you, wait there, and bring them back to the facility. They are also open most days when school is out due to snow or most holidays so it allows you to drop them off during what would be supposed to be school hours and they will keep them until 7pm if you need the time.
For the kids: Passed the entrance "thing", inside is very well lit and spacious. There are lots of toys and activities for the kids to do. Most of the time guided by the staff. They are all amazing and caring people. Snacks, games, story time, fun activities like piano, singing, hide & seek, etc...
I love it and i always recommend it to my friends and people in need. I think Mr. Bernard and his staff are doing and amazing job and I want to thank them for really caring about our kids and not our wallets. The only bad thing about Mr. Bernard is that he is a Knicks fan so he´s always depressed during Basketball season but I guess that...
Read moreMy son joined AWNWA when he was 7 months old in the beginning of 2021. We visited many daycare centers in town, but once we saw this one we knew it was the right fit for us. It's a family business that actually feels like family. Mr. B., the owner and director, greets you every morning. That's something that I missed in other centers. We also liked that after our visit, they put us in touch with parents that had their children in the school at the time so we would learn more about it. And now, we are the ones that provide information to any parents that ask for it! The teachers are caring and loving, and keep the little ones entertained with multiple activities (I don't know how they do it, because at home I can't get him to sit down for more than 1 minute). There are also some fun events like the spring soiree where parents and teachers get to spend some time together, and the environment is...
Read moreI had a list of 5/6 day cares in town and A Whole New World Academy was the first and the only place we visited. I (we) were done! My daughter started at 22 months and had a big emotional adjustment - while it was an adjustment for both of us, it was because of the warmth and patience of every single person that works there that this little day care aka school has become not just a place for our little one to play with friends and learn but for me to be able to have some time and pursue my own career. My husband and I LOVE AWNWA and highly suggest it! If we move - we will be picking an apartment based on proximity - because there are a lot of apartments - there is...
