I worked with Craig and his associates for2 weeks sourcing diamonds for an engagement ring. Unfortunately Craig lost out on a $10,500 sale since he said he was going on a business trip and the diamonds we discussed are no longer available.

Clearly my special day with my wife was not as important as a trip and Craig hastily dismissed me via email and lacked the professionalism to pick up the phone and speak to me.

As an FYI for potential shoppers here, the diamond market is veiled and very liquid. Prices and availability are always changing. It is to be expected that if you want more then a few days, diamonds may go out of stock. Thankfully, more diamonds are always becoming available particularly lab grown diamonds.

Once the 3 diamonds discussed with Whitten’s went “out of stock” there was no attempt to earn my business by simply shopping around with diamond dealers for another day or two despite my vocal intentions to make a purchase.

Unfortunately Whitten’s Fine Jewelry did not live up to their reputation and likely with business practices such as this will likely not survive the recession of 2023.

Great family owned store! I won a diamond in a promotion they did a couple years ago. They custom did my setting for it when my husband proposed and we got our wedding bands there too. They were very helpful and patient with us when my husband wanted to upgrade my diamond as an anniversary gift. We also got a beautiful diamond tennis bracelet at a great price. They do appraisals in house which is convenient for insurance purposes. I have also bought a ton of Chamilia bracelets and beads here over the years. So has my mom, best friend and her mom. Do not take your gold, silver, or jewelry here to sell. Don’t be fooled by the overpriced items in display cases, you’ll be lucky to receive 20% of pawn shop prices at Whitman’s.

I’ve taken the precious metals I come across at auction and estate sales to Diamond State Coins & Currency and for good reason. They will give you top dollar without negotiation.
