I don't know if it was a misunderstanding or what but Hope College came out to the Community First Village did a Bible study and was not welcoming to let the homeless residence attend the Bible study I do think that's a little rude in a way what would God think about that number one Jesus Christ was homeless himself he would never like it having a homeless people turn away or judged you think they would be welcoming to allow people to go to Bible study I think that was wrong and when I asked about there school that morning ask about if there was a one line option or if they had a housing option for people who don't live in that state they said no they didn't have anything like that and I look on there website and I saw that they have a housing option for college students we residence was very welcoming to the college students at all of the events that we had out in the community first village we never told them it was just for the residence who live out here in the community but they want to turn us away from a Bible study they where doing in are unity Hall...
Read moreHope wasn’t all bad but they didn’t take my mental health seriously so it began to deteriorate. I was hospitalized twice my freshman year. I just remember one night I swallowed a bunch of pills and my group project was due the next day and I obviously didn’t do any work because I was going through it and my professor and group partner had no sympathy and called me lazy. My teacher never asked me what I was going through. Rumors began to spread and all of my “friends” started to ignore me and laugh as I walked past, calling me names under their breath. Read moreI spent a week visiting my then-girlfriend on campus a few years ago. Even now all these years later I still recall the campus with fondness, Really a beautiful setting, delightful architecture, and plenty of cute shops and cafe's all in biking and walking distance. Really felt safe and comfortable spending time here.
The parts I remember most were the friendliness of the students, such as being loaned bicycles to get around campus, and the friendliness of neighborhood residents who were more than happy to take time out of their to give directions or advice on places to go.
