Tulip Festival: I visited this park and surroundings during tulip times. Look for the season online and visit early in the season to get the fresh flowers. If you want to see tulips visit centennial park. Approach the park from south and park at the 13 street and 12 which is free. 8th street is recommended to visit as there are many eateries and boutiques. More food options near Walmart super center on the north side, all you can eats option also available. On the east and north side its crowded and parking costs 10$. No need to go elsewhere like Veldheer, Niels Dutch village etc. Go there if you want to pay entry and see some traditional Dutch stuff like windmill and shoes. If you have already seen the Keukenhof in Netherlands in Europe, this area is disappointing in that comparison. If you can't go to Europe then this place is...
Read moreCentennial Park is a lovely park in Holland, Michigan with many winding paths through flower beds and trees. There are a couple of attractive fountains where we watched a family of ducks for a while. Unfortunately, the fountains were not running when we were there so we'll have to go back to see them later in the season. There is also a bandstand where I am sure they must host small concerts in the summer. Benches dot the paths and there is plentiful green space that would make for lovely picnic spots and family play areas. We were there for the Tulip Time Festival in early May when the park is transformed into an Artisan Market. The number of vendors and the quality of their workmanship is impressive. The park is also planted with a great many and wide variety of tulips at this time of year. Definitely...

This visit was during their Holland Tulip Festival. Note this community is still very conservative and not terribly affirming of others who don't fit into their narrative. There were several looks because I was there with my Boyfriend and his 3 kids. That being said this is also the area that they hold their Annual Pride event so things are definitely changing in the community and I applaud them for trying to be more inclusive as...
