The 205 Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Holland

If you’re looking for some casual sloppy service and racism, this is your place. We had to wait over 30 mins for a waffle and an avocado toast while people (white people obvs), came after us, got their food. The server gave us a good serving of west Michigan nice. IYKYK. Avoid if you’re a POC and/or have young hungry kids.

To the owner who feels offended by the truth. It would be great if you read the view. What was unacceptable was that people who came after us were served before us. And none of your staff came to update us. Might I also point out that this owner refused to make eye contact when I went up to tell him. He treated me like I didn’t exist. Thanks for your recommendation to stay home. Maybe you should learn some humility and apologize for tardy service before giving other people unsolicited advice?

Also, as a scholar of the United States, I could give you a long history lesson unpacking everything you just said to show your own biases. But I won’t go into that because it’s clear to me you don’t care.

My sincere unsolicited advice to the owner: go read some history and cultivate some humility.

This would be my third time here. If I lived closer, I probably would frequent this coffee house more often.

Not only do they serve coffee and tea, they also serve alcohol. Wine and cocktails. They have muffins, croissants, bagels, and just today I saw they have a charcuterie board!!!!

It's conveniently located close to the Hope College Performance building, I think it is called the Jack H. Miller performance Hall, around the corner from the downtown Holland shops and restaurants, and very close to Hope college. I imagine it's a great spot to stop and enjoy a glass of wine and walk over to the building for one of their shows.

It's a small building, but decorated with fun pieces. There are high tops, regular tables, and hugh bench seats. I've noticed there are two glass garage doors. I wonder if they open them during the summer? The lighting is also very warm and mellow. Great space to just have a drink, and hang out with friends.

BTW, every time I have been here, I had had one or both kids. No issues. They can get a cup of water, milk, tea. Get them a muffin or bagel. They...

Coffee is always good, however the service and the attitude from the owner is not acceptable. My online order took more than 35 minutes and even then I had to go inside and ask for it instead of picking it up at the take out window. They saw me parked out front for more than 15 minutes and yet never acknowledged I was present. I stood at the pick up window for a few minutes, still did not give any indication that they were even working on my order. The help and owner need a lesson in customer service. Look people in the eye. Greet them when they come in the door...and don't scold someone for asking for their order!

No... did not "march".... and there were already SEVERAL customers in the building... I had waited purposely until after you had a chance to greet the in person customers. It was even after 8:05 and you know that! I am just surprised that you can't even look customers in the eye or greet them kindly as an owner of a business.
