I rarely post reviews, but I feel I have to do so here. My wife and I went in to buy two new phones - both of ours had been paid in full some time ago. First, the service is really good. We knew my wife could essentially get an iphone free, but he found a good deal for a replacement on my phone as well. I also know I was due for a plan review and mentioned this, so he switch us around so our bill should come down.
The bad: the bill was astronomical with no warning whatsoever. Yes we do screen protector and cases. Generally I figure we would spend 150ish per phone on top of it all. What I didn't count on was the 'setup and go fee' of $40 x 2. Mind you, during this service he was taking care of other customers. What I didn't count on was for them to charge $10 x 2 to check the remaining balance on our phones - which were both $0. What I didn't expect was for the cord he picked out for my wife to use in the car to be $36. Did I know the liquid screen protector would be more? Sure. I didn't expect it to be $70 per phone x 2. I didn't expect the camera protector to be $33 x 2. I didn't expect that the bill would end up at $700 for 2 phones in accessories and fees. And we have yet to pay the carrier for the change fees.
I try to be mindful that if I haven't priced something in a couple years, its probably going to be shocking due to inflation. I also know when I buy accessories where I buy my phone, they're going to cost more. But this kind of goes above and beyond. My biggest complaints are that: 1. we weren't told of the fees - I can easily connect 2 cords and copy data, and 2. we were not told a single price for anything along the way. The latter is on me somewhat, and I suppose we could have taken the charges and cord off of the bill, but the everything else pretty much wasn't coming off the phone in one piece.
I hope what he said about our bill actually going down $15 a month is true - I suppose we'll get our money back in something like 4 years.
The bottom line is I won't be back. A little because in the name of fighting price inflation I will just deal with the carrier directly and buy accessories online, but mostly because of the eye popping number with no warning.
UPDATE: I corresponded with customer service after their response below, and they're really not into helping make it right. They just respond publicly so it looks like they care.
I would strongly suggest that others go to the Verizon corporate stores in either Fuquay or Cary.
UPDATE2: They reached out to me again via email and let me know they were going to review the transaction. They did apply a credit to my Verizon account, which I very much appreciate. I hope they also implement some employee training, and I have learned to never, ever let people start running up the bill without asking what...

Read moreBEWARE This is not a corporate store, but is an authorized retailer called Victra. I did not know this going in, or I would have gone to a different store. If you do choose to go here, be prepared for the hard sell. They want to upgrade you on everything.
I was there with my whole family wanting our new phones for our shared plan. To start with, they asked if we wanted to setup phones there. I never would have said yes if I knew they charge $39 per phone for that "service". The apps make it so simple to do yourself, I never realized I was being charged for them to do it until I saw the receipt. Next, he kept discussing accessories like liquid screen protectors, lens protectors and charger blocks that we all "needed". I asked how much things were several times, but he kept telling me he would show me at the end when he added everything up. He was getting us such a great discount on everything, it was all such a great "deal". He opened and popped on the lens protector before telling me the price. He told us we "had" to use his specialty charging block or risk ruining the phone. I find out later that 3 of our phones are not even capable of charging at the higher wattage he sold us and therefore give us no benefit. It's not just that he sold us the blocks, but he lied on how it was required. Before he added the liquid screen protectors, I asked how much everything was. He had added in over $600 in accessories for our 5 phones, multiple of which had already been put on. I tried to trun everything down, but my elderly parent did not want to put the store through the hassle of having to return everything.
So far i have been lied to about requirements for use of phone and have been almost forcibly sold accessories i don't need. Finally he tells me that he is going to save me additional money by trialing Verizon internet. I don't mind returning something to get money, but what he failed to mention was that I cannot return the item to his store since he is not really Verizon. I had to call Verizon and then bring the device to the real Verizon corporate store, which is where I really should have gone to begin with.
I absolutely recommend that you go to a true corporate Verizon store and avoid the ripoffer... I mean reseller at all costs. The store in Fuquay is where...
