To start off, Marshalls has one of the worst return policies I have ever witnessed as a consumer and former retail worker. While I was aware of their 30-day return policy for all unworn items for a full refund if paid by cash or credit card, however, they could have been more flexible to offer me a partial refund, with a store credit for an item I have never worn, which included all tags attached to the item and a receipt as proof of purchase.
For someone who is busy, and barley has enough spare time to peruse the stores, I unfortunately missed the 30-day window and ended-up returning the item two days after the fact only to have the store manager deny my request for at least a partial cash refund. He should have been resourceful enough to understand there are exceptions to the rule. This fact is simply not acceptable for a billion-dollar industry, which could have afforded to honor me my request for a cash refund. If they expect their customers to be loyal, then this is not a smart move for their bottom line! As someone like me, who only shops at Marshalls now and then as needed, but still shopped there nonetheless, has declared to never step foot in the door of Marshalls or any other subsidiary again!
F.Y.I. Nordstrom, Target, Costco, and among other retailers are known for their generous return policy which is capped at 90 days. Having rigid return policies like this can make or break the customer service experience like the one I have experienced yesterday....
Read moreDisappointed.. My teen son was going in to try on formal wear. It’s his first time wearing this type of attire as he is a comfy sports guy. We went to the dressing room so he could try on his clothing. I asked if there was a family room. He’s a teenager but I wanted to ensure his fit was appropriate and he didn't feel comfortable coming out in front of crowd. Hence why I asked (just for a little privacy). The women at the the dressing room snared and began to belittle myself and my teen son “what he can’t dress himself?” As they all began to laugh aloud to one another. It was a mature aged woman, and 2 younger women.
This is my son’s first formal event. He’s out of his comfort zone. He’s so tall he requires men’s clothing. He’s unfamiliar with understanding the length and height of formal wear. He’s a kid learning to be a young man. Unfortunately, His dad was working not able to take him.
It saddens me this older women felt it was necessary to Insult and embarrass us instead of reading the situation. My son was mortified and it really just put a damper on...
Read moreThe store manager was absolutely racist....... Her name is Beth, I asked one of the workers there for a price of a winter coat, which didn't have the price tag on it. She immediately asked Her boss (the store manager) who was near us. She rudely answered her in front of me, " I can only do one thing at a time." I said, "There's no rush, take your time" and she responds: "The price of that jacket is around $400.00" then I asked if that was the real price, or if it was just an idea. She responds "that's the price" with such an attitude. That didn't sound right to me. So, I said: "I'll wait until you guys help me to get the real price of it". In the meantime I kept looking on the same rack and I found the same exact jacket with the price tag on it ,and it WASN'T $400 it was $139.00. I told them right away, and the store manager didn't seem happy. She didn't even apologize. I feel like she just randomly picked a high price almost assuming i wouldn't be able to afford it, because i'm spanish????? All this happened in front of...
