My 1st time purchase "this season" was last weekend. 1st thing I noticed in a 5lb order... a LOT of empty pieces (heads with NO TAILS!!). Paid $65.00, and my bag was 1/4+ broken pieces and the crawfish (the whole piece that is)...were at least 3-4-5 days OLD!! The tail meat was mush, soft, and nothing AT ALL like it should have been. The tail meat stuck to the tails!! My roots run deep into Cajun County, and I grew up eating crawfish, etc .. even cook them myself when I feel like it. This time, as before, I bought theirs. BIG MISTAKE. I examined my bag before leaving THANK GOODNESS and returned them immediately. They did apologize, poured out my order in front of me, and I pointed out the problem (broken legs (whic I expected) & and entirely TOO MANY empty heads (although I expected "some" yes). They tried to fix it, but it didn't work out too well. I found at least 23+ empty heads mixed in my 5lb bag when I got home. Also, I bought extra corn, potatoes & sausage. 🤮 AWFUL!! OLD!! SLIMEY!! DISGUSTING!! The corn was RAW. The sausage was old and tasted gamey. The potatoes had a slick, slimey coating on them. So needless to say, I'm passing on returning to RMC in Homewood, AL. This experience, unlike the past seasons, was completely disappointing and unacceptable. Recommendation? NO!! GO AT YOUR OWN RISK AND BEWARE OF THE "HIDDDEN & EMPTY HEADS DISGUISED AS WHOLE CRAWFISH PIECES MIXED IN YOUR ORDER. OH, AND WATCH OUT FOR DAYS OLD, OUTDATED CRAWFISH WITH SLIMEY...
Read moreI am the most qualified person on this planet to evaluate boiled crawfish. After all, last crawfish season I committed to eating my weight in crawfish and I succeeded. Unfortunately I started the season at 195 lbs. and ended up at 210 lbs. I've eaten crawfish at dozens of places in New Orleans, LA, Baton Rouge, LA, Kenner, LA, Houma, LA, Slidell, LA, Mandeville, LA, Harahan, LA, Shreveport, LA, Morgan City, LA Lafayette, LA, Picayune, LA, Houston, TX, Orlando, FL, Miami, FL, and Birmingham, AL (5 different places). Red Mountain is the best...hands down!! Jerry and Josh take customer satisfaction very seriously. They will ask you this time how they taste and next time they'll thank you for coming back....then they'll ask you how they taste again to be sure you're happy. Dead crawfish DO NOT get in the boil. They are very meticulous about the culling process. The flavor is the best. Periodically I get lazy and cheat on them and buy crawfish a little closer to my house and I'm always disappointed. I did this last week and today I'm going to Red Mountain, to get 5 lbs. and wash the taste out of my mouth from the one's I ate somewhere else. I'm very excited. J&J....see you in a...
Read moreLet me brag about my friends at Red Mountain Crawfish for a few minutes!! A few weeks ago my daughter and I purchased 4lbs of shrimp along with 10lbs of crawfish. While eating the shrimp we both noticed that they were a little chewy and hard to peel the shells. We expressed our concerns to the staff who in turn apologized for our inconvenience and gave us not only the 4lbs that we purchased but an extra pound for the trouble. When I went to pick up my order the next time, they apologized AGAIN and let me sample the shrimp before bagging them up!! This is what I call superior customer service because they went above and beyond to make sure I was pleased!! Then they texted me the very next morning asking if I was ok and wishing me a great rest of my day!! I love you guys for always taking such great care of my family each and every time we purchase food from you all! May the Lord continue to bless your business 🙏🏽 ✨️ 🙌🏽...
