I just had a similar experience. I went for showing at one unit with this realty. Gayle and another of her associates (they didn't introduce themselves i found out Gayle's name later) showed us the unit. The majority of the speaking was done by the associate not Gayle. As i went to turn in the rental application a few days later the front desk clerk said we didnt have the copies of the original paperwork they needed from us. She asked who showed the unit and we described who it was. The clerk brought back Gayle who went on to explain that SHE told us that we were supposed to provide copies of everything otherwise they would charge us for making copies. My wife and I shared look because we were thinking the same thing . she barely said anything at all. Anyways we went to make the copies and returned. We asked when the acceptance or denial of the application would be processed and who would get back to us. The front clerk said it would take a few days and i would have to call back to find out . Now every realtor I've dealt with here in Hawaii has always given same day notice. This blows my mind . I don't think the owners had this in mind when they opened this realty. I have been renting from Bob Tanaka Realty for 18 years. This means three separate units during the course of that time.

I am shocked at the negative reviews, as I have rented from both Lori and Alan and have found them both to be courteous and professional. If you have any doubt, consider the owner of my current unit switched to a different property management firm, and was so appalled by the downgrade, they switched back to Bob Tanaka in a single year.

My daughter and her roommates rented from Lori at Bob Tanaka Realtors from May of 2014 to June of 2016. My daughter was a student at UH Manoa. I was a co-signor for my daughter. I appreciate that Lori let me co-sign for her and rented to us. They were great landlords and very professional. They did their yearly inspections. I recommend them as property managers.
